Antonio Di Mauro

Antonio Di Mauro is of Italian decent. His parents emigrated from Italy's Calabria region and moved to Germany where he was born in 1965. He was raised speaking both German and Italian. At the end of the 1980s, Antonio Di Mauro started taking acting lessons with Nina Gaidavora while at the same time being enrolled at the renowned Munich drama school Schauspiel München where he eventually graduated from. His very screen debut was the French-German co-production called Der Erfolg ihres Lebens (book: Ulrich Del Mestre / dir.: Michael Braun) . In the film which was shot on location in Italy and France he was cast opposite Andrea Jonasson and Veronique Jannot. This exciting entrance into the film business was followed by more offers in different TV formats. His first engagement as a recurring character on a TV series was on the SAT 1 show Sylvia - Eine Klasse für sich which starred Antonio Di Mauro alongside Uschi Glas and definitely put him on the map for TV audiences. And once more, this was followed by countless TV film- and serial productions. Just until recently, Antonio Di Mauro was part of the cast of the TV series Herzflimmern which ran for more than two seasons on ZDF from 2011 to 2012.
