- Daniela Dessì was born on May 14, 1957 in Genoa, Italy. She was an actress, known for Madama Butterfly (2004), Francesca da Rimini (2004) and Così fan tutte (1989). She died on August 20, 2016 in Brescia, Lombardy, Italy.

- After studying voice in Parma and Siena, she first attracted attention when she won the 1980 RAI International Competition. She began her professional career with concert performances, before making her opera debut with the Opera Giacosa in Savona in Pergolesi's "La Serva Padrona" (The Servant Mistress).
- Her repertory included more than sixty roles, ranging from the operas of Monteverdi and Mozart to the Verdi, Puccini, and verismo heroines that established her international reputation.
