Christopher B. Derrick is from Shaker Heights, OH. As the son of a former coffee importer/tax attorney and a gifted teacher, he traveled to Europe and Africa in junior and high school, and learned to be conversant in French and German. He creates stories, comics, TV and films about troubled men and women who battle themselves set against SuperTechnirama-sized backdrops. He stumbled upon an opportunity to interview legendary filmmaker Billy Wilder about their joint fascination with Beidermeir furniture and post-WWI Vienna. Chris loves the epic cinema of old, defunct motion picture formats, medium format photography, and Russian literature. Orson Welles' Othello (and its troubled production) is a prime inspiration for his filmmaking career.
