The time has come for Kelly Monaco’s character, Sam McCall, to be killed off General Hospital.
Viewers have been upset since the news broke months ago, and in the weeks following the announcement, more details have come to light.
Kelly hinted the situation was “retaliation” but didn’t elaborate further. However, she confirmed that a statement would be coming.
There have been rumors that Frank Valentini (the executive producer of General Hospital) took issue with what Kelly said following the firing of Billy Miller from the ABC soap. The two were close friends, so her opinion wasn’t shocking.
Several long-time viewers have spoken about Kelly’s firing, offering support and suggesting the soap fix the decision and bring her back. After all, anything can happen in the soap world.
But beyond that, many are calling for Frank to be fired.

From Drama To Horror
While many soap stars tend to stick to dramas or Hallmark Channel romcoms – find out what soap stars will be on Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas this year – some have branched out to an unexpected genre: horror. If you want to add some familiar faces to a spooky movie night this Halloween, add these to your list of must-watches.
General Hospital
Idle Hands, starring Kelly Monaco
This 1999 horror film stars Devon Sawa and Jessica Alba and follows a teenaged boy who’s hand becomes possessed and goes on a murderous rampage. It certainly didn’t win any Oscars, but it does feature a young Kelly Monaco as one of the victims.

General Hospital has lost its way, and adding cast members with little to no significance to the current cast has been par for the course.
The cast is so bloated, yet many longtime fan favorites have been on the back burner for so long that what was simmering is probably stuck to the pot.
Over the years, the show has morphed from the hospital drama to being more focused on the mob scene, run by none other than Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Whether viewers want to admit it or not, he has become the face of the show. He is on nearly every day and often is the center of focus for several big storylines on the daytime drama.
However, some of us remember the days of great storylines that happened at the hospital. The nursing staff has dwindled, and the doctors are few and far between these days.

Kassie DePaiva, who is set to reprise her One Life to Live character, Blair Cramer, on General Hospital this month, has been opening up about her battles with cancer. The soap star appeared on Stephanie Sloane and Mara Levinsky’s Dishing the Digest podcast, where she talked about her diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia in 2016, which was followed a year later by a breast cancer diagnosis. “I went to a country jamboree up at Hunter Mountain, and I’m sitting on a chair lift. I feel under my arm, I go, ‘That’s weird.’ I felt two knots. So I thought, ‘Hmmm.’ And they weren’t painful. I know I didn’t feel bad, nothing,” she shared, explaining that she was on a scheduling break from Days of Our Lives at the time. She continued, “I called and set up an appointment with my doctor and said, ‘Okay, coming back in July.

Are you ready, General Hospital fans?
The sudsy ABC daytime soap opera is bringing back a familiar face, and we're convinced this is some of the best casting news we've heard in a long time.
People reports that Daytime Emmy winner Rena Sofer has booked a comeback as Lois Cerullo.
Yes, this is really happening.
As General Hospital Fans will be well aware, Sofer has been away from the show for 26 years, so this will be exciting for fans who have watched for decades.
Typically, this type of casting gets older fans to check back in with the show who had maybe fallen off over the years.
Lois' comeback coincides with her ex-husband Ned's battle with amnesia.
Ned has become convinced he's Eddie Maine, his alter ego from the '90s.
There's a lot of drama currently happening on-screen on General Hospital, but fans will be excited about Lois' reunion with Ned,...

General Hospital veteran John J. York announced earlier this month that he’d be taking a hiatus from the ABC daytime soap — and now we know why.
York revealed that he’s dealing with some serious health issues in a video he shared on social media on Wednesday: “I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, or Mds, and [smoldering multiple] myeloma, two blood and bone marrow disorders. Over the past many months, I’ve had three bone marrow biopsies, many chemo treatments — I have another one coming up in a couple of weeks — and I’m closing in on a blood stem cell transplant.

Daytime soap star Kassie DePaiva will bring her One Life to Live character, Blair Cramer, back to life in a brief stint on General Hospital. DePavia’s appearance is slated to begin in September, an ABC rep confirmed to TV Line. This isn’t the first time DePaiva or her character has made an appearance on Gh. Just two months after One Life to Live came to an end in March 2022, the actress brought Blair to the show in a multi-month crossover event that also saw series lead Roger Howarth return as Todd Manning. Howarth has been starring in General Hospital for over a decade in several different roles, including his first role as Franco Baldwin and his most recent character, Austin Gatlin-Holt. Previously in August, DePaiva, who recently returned to Days of Our Lives as Eve Donovan, touched on the possibility of a return to General Hospital and reunion with Howarth,...

Love him or hate him, Leo Stark brings drama like no one else.
His attempt at being a better person fell apart when he gave in to Dimitri's advances, betraying his best friend shortly before Gwen and Dimitri's wedding.
Gwen doesn't know that Dimitri's playing her (unless she's also playing him!) or that her best friend betrayed her. And according to spoilers for Days of Our Lives during the week of 7-31-23, he'll speak up before the pair says their "I dos." But what on Earth is he going to say?
Leo and Gwen's friendship is one of the best things to happen to Days of Our Lives recently. Although both characters can be hard to take on their own, something about their dynamic makes them fun together.
It hurts to realize that one of TV's best platonic relationships is doomed, at least temporarily.

The Evil Dead movies have always excelled with bloody practical effects and make-up, and Evil Dead Rise is no exception.

You can always count on horror to test boundaries, so it’s no surprise that the genre has long explored the taboo of cannibalism. Cannibals are most often associated with exploitation horror, leading to a cannibal horror boon in the ’70s and early ’80s, thanks to Italian horror filmmakers like Umberto Lenzi, Ruggero Deodato, and Joe D’Amato. But as the Video Nasty craze came and went and time evolved the genre, so did the depiction of cannibalism.
The ’90s brought horror’s most common depiction of cannibals out of the jungle and into society, largely thanks to The Silence of the Lambs’ Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). The Academy Award-winning feature adapted Thomas Harris’ 1988 novel and introduced a supporting character so fascinating that he overshadowed the film’s actual antagonist, Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine). Protagonist Clarice Starling gets assigned to interview the incarcerated cannibalistic serial killer in the hopes that Dr.

DiggerFilms has debuted an official trailer for the documentary film Hail to the Deadites, another doc film about (horror) movie fans and their love for a particular franchise. From filmmaker Steve Villeneuve, Hail to the Deadites is a documentary about the fans of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead films and explores the classic franchise's undying and ever-growing popularity. Beside meeting with fans around the world, the 80 minutes documentary feature interviews with Evil Dead franchise cast members such as Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Tom Sullivan, Dan Hicks, Kassie Wesley DePaiva, Sarah Berry, Rick Domeier & Bill Moseley. I am personally a big fan of the Evil Dead franchise, including the most recent 2013 entry, the first three classics, and the television show, Ash vs Evil Dead. I was impressed with this film which, like most well-done and entertaining docs about horror franchises, interviews a multitude of folk, from the cast and crew of the films themselves,...

With Halloween fast approaching, this writer wanted to unpack one of his all-time favorite horror movies, Evil Dead II (a.k.a. Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn). The first time I beheld the original The Evil Dead (1981), I found myself utterly terrified by the movie’s grisly carnage, completely charmed by its obvious low-fi origins, and wholly bewildered by a sense of humor that can only be described as “Three Stooges-esque.” The fact that it was made by a bunch of college dropouts from the suburbs of Michigan, through money raised largely from suburban dentists and grocers, only made its achievement all the more impressive. The movie’s charmingly crude special effects and daringly acrobatic camerawork only served to enhance its freshness, positioning it as a raw, gritty antidote to that era’s glossier, tamer studio horror fare.
The Evil Dead was merely an appetizer. Its delightfully demented successor...

In the spirit of Halloween, this writer wanted to unpack one of his all-time favorite horror masterpieces, Evil Dead II (a.k.a. Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn).

But I knew that this was only the appetizer. By the time I got around to Evil Dead II, it had become legend in my mind. As a fairly literate movie fan, I knew that this was purported to be the crown jewel of the Ash Williams cinematic trilogy.
