- Roger Dean was born on August 31, 1944 in Ashford, Kent, England, UK. He is known for Brataccas (1986), Yessongs (1975) and Tetris Splash (2007).
- His colorful artwork, often based on the realm of fantasy (dragons, etc.) have been used on album covers for such bands as Yes and Asia.
- Some of his art work is on permanent display at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
- His book "Views" (1975) was used to inspire the design of the stage sets for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977).
- His famous Retreat Pod is featured in A Clockwork Orange (1971). Mrs. Alexander was seated in it during an early scene in the movie.
