His brother, Daniel de los Reyes, is a percussionist who is a member of the Zac Brown Band and a former member of the bands Earth Wind & Fire and Chicago. He also has two sisters, Lily and Ilde, who reside in Las Vegas and work in the hotel business.

Has twin sons, John Rubén de los Reyes and Michael Luís de los Reyes, born May 13, 2014. Children's mother is his wife, actor Sherri Saum.

As it turned out, Kamar improvised an entire scene with her and halfway through the scene, she left and brought back a photo of Kamar's actual father Walfredo, which can be seen in the movie.
