Four blocks of Hollywood Boulevard, where fans have queued since early December, are covered with a huge tent for premiere of The Force Awakens
More than a thousand new members a day are signing up to join the Church of Jediism as fans prepare for the release this week of new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens, it is claimed.
Patrick Day-Childs, a member of the UK-based organisation’s five-strong council, told the Daily Telegraph that the group now boasted more than 250,000 followers.

We love celebrating real holidays like Christmas and Hanukkah, but you know what's even more fun? Making up your own holidays to celebrate! Luckily, a ton of TV shows have already done the legwork by coming up with their own jolly traditions and festivities. And if there's anyone we trust to turn a made-up day into an event, it's sitcom and cartoon writers.
Get that Festivus pole out of the crawl space, deck yourself in blue and yellow and start ringing bells: It’s time to celebrate nine of our favorite TV holidays.
1. Festivus (Seinfeld)
It’s the Festivus for the rest of us! The parody holiday has become so popular that it’s now celebrated off-screen too. The secular celebration was created by George Costanza’s father as an alternative to the commercialization of Christmas, because that is 100 percent something Frank Costanza would do. It’s celebrated on Dec. 23 with an aluminum...

The Free Church of Scotland is apparently worried that Jedi Knights will soon be able to marry.
The Jedi are a special organisation in the Star Wars universe. Jedi Knights are experienced Jedi and have to complete "trials" to become Knights.
Scotland's new Marriage and Civil Partnership Bill will allow people promoting any belief to be married. Civil partnerships and religious marriages could be joined by a third category of people, reports Metro.
A spokesperson for the UK's Church of Jediism, Patrick Day-Childs, admitted there was a demand for Star Wars-inspired weddings and said: "We're open to all forms of marriage and the joining of two people who love each other in any way shape or form."
Reverend Iver Martin, spokesman for the free church, said: "The third category is quite astonishing because it is the so-called belief category without really defining what belief means.

Frank's storyline this week. This was the first time that the dark humor attempt with his character worked. And it had the added bonus of inflicting great pain on him.
Frank heads over to the Gallagher house to await the mail delivery (he signed up for a trial subscription to Marie Claire and the first edition is due to arrive. Oh, and also his worker's compensation check.)
Instead, he receives a notice that that his money has been terminated.
He tracks down his lawyer, who's found an easy way to get new customers: he throws water on icy steps and waits for them to cartwheel down to him. Well, it beats buying TV ad time at 3 Am.
The lawyer tells him that his money was canceled because they have video of him jumping out of windows half naked, running from drug dealers, etc. All things he should not be doing while collecting worker's comp.

Can you name them all?
October marks the 5th Anniversary of Glbt History Month, and Equality Forum has commemorative resources, including lists of the 155 Icons from 2006 to 2010 and a special edition 5th Anniversary poster. Outfest will honor out filmmaker Roland Emmerich with their Visionary Award at their annual Legacy Awards on Thursday, October 21. Afterward Roland will film the destruction of the theater for his next movie, Blowing Sh*t Up. Now it gives me great pleasure to introduce a new regular feature in the briefs. With all of the asshattery, jackassery, and batcrappery going on in the world, sometimes it's difficult to separate the ordinary crazy from the extraordinary crazy. That's where we come in, with our new feature "I heard a nutjob say it!™" For instance ... did you know that juice boxes and kettle chips are turning everyone gay? It's true! 75 year old Jimmy Ford does a jig and reminisces about Ireland with Louis
Jimmy Forde impressed the Britain’s Got Talent judges with his Irish dancing routine and managed to get himself out through to tonight’s semi final show.
Check out an interview with the Irish pensioner below in which he reveals that he has been dancing for 300 years, how much he loves St Patricks day and his former claim to fame.
When and how did you discover you had your talent?
I have been doing Irish dancing for about 300 years, only joking but I have been doing it for a long time, I just love dancing and music. I like to dance to keep me fit and it seems to be working and people seem to really enjoy my dancing and I’ve always had good feedback.
What is the largest audience you have performed in front of before this show?...

As 'secular' holidays go, Halloween is easily my favorite. You can keep your Valentine's Day hearts and your St. Patrick Day benders, and give me a jack o' lantern any day of the week. It's a holiday that I never fail to celebrate with too much candy and as many horror movies as I can get my hands on, and even though I may not trick or treat anymore, I am highly observant when it comes to All Hallows' Eve. Maybe my love for the season is that it really is the perfect holiday for the movie lover, and I always remember gearing up for the big day as a kid by watching scary movies. I still keep that tradition alive as an adult, but like they say; it's all about the kids -- unfortunately for parents, most horror movies aren't.

It has been an eventful past few weeks for post house Screen Scene and outside broadcast Observe team between covering all the St Patrick Day Festivities supplying production and post production services to the to the 'Meteor Ireland Music Awards' and creating graphics for The Script's new video 'Talk you Down'. For the 'Meteor Music Awards', Screen Scene worked closely with production partner Red Jam and with the various departments within Meteor and McD, in order to generate exclusive content that Meteor could deliver through their network straight to their customer's phones in this innovative project. Vt Packages were delivered in the run up to the event with a studio, edit suites and encode facility all set up on site at the awards at the Rds.

Stanley (Gold Rush, Hollywood Reporter).
Beware — while our pundits say that these are their absolutely final predictions, there are still a few weeks to go in the Oscars derby, we may feel the momentum suddenly shift to different contenders and we will be forced to alter our forecasts accordingly!

It's that time of year again, when everyone rolls out their "Top 10" lists, the "Best and Worsts", and other variations on what boils down to individual opinions on what they loved or loathed throughout the previous 365 days. Not big on doing a numeric list, here's some of my favorite Musick releases for 2008 in no particular order.
Between The Buried And Me - "Colors Live"
Release Date: 10/14/2008
Label: Victory Records
Format: DVD/CD
You've got to respect a band like Between the Buried and Me for doing what they do, and carving a niche far outside the norm. Seamlessly mixing hardcore, death metal, and melodic pop with the ability to turn on a dime, Btbam is by far one of the most polished acts currently skirting the mainstream. Their DVD set for Colors is beautifully shot, has a fantastic audio mix, and has spent more time in my player this year than almost anything else.

McFadden: 'I Hate Guinness'
Former Westlife star Brian McFadden has upset his fellow Irish natives after declaring he hates Guinness - the country's national beverage.
Speaking on Australian radio station Nova 96.9 on Monday, McFadden shocked his compatriots around the world by admitting he despises the taste of the drink.
He said, "(Guinness) makes your poo black... it's disgusting."
McFadden also shunned St Patrick's Day celebrations in Sydney - instead choosing to spend time with his mother and two children from his marriage to British singer Kerry Katona.

How I Met Your Mother returned tonight with its first new post-strike episode. Unfortunately, the half hour felt shoddily assembled. You could feel the writers' rust, though How I Met Your Mother's story-telling acumen remained spectacular. The episode was like a rough draft - the plot was good, and everything was set up for a solid episode, but the jokes weren't up to snuff. But, this was to be expected. The writers probably hurried the script into production – you could tell because it was a St. Patrick's Day themed episode. Not surprisingly, the episode was penned by co-creators and show runners Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. Hopefully, the quality will improve in the coming weeks. The bright spot was that tonight's How I Met Your Mother was another in a long line of semi-poignant, resonating episodes that the series has made its calling card.

Bosworth The Party Animal
Kate Bosworth is a secret party animal who can outdrink her new movie co-stars, according to 21 castmate Josh Gad.
The pair celebrated St Patrick's Day 2007 on the Boston, Massachusetts set with other cast and crew members - and Gad was stunned to discover the pretty actress is a wild woman with a strong constitution.
He says, "Kate can drink anyone under the table. Get a couple in her, and she's definitely a very fun and crazy girl.
"We went out on St. Patrick's Day. Not only did she pick the place, but she picked the rowdiest place. And it's like, 'Ok, she's one of us! Let's get s**t-faced!' But Kate is always one step ahead of you. She had a blast, and everybody was just enamoured of the fact that there's a superstar singing and dancing and going nuts. But she was also the first one to be like, 'Ok, I'm out of here.'"...

Britney Spears completed two days of filming on Tv's How I Met Your Mother, receiving praise from the sitcom's cast for her attitude and comic skills. "There was not an ounce of the dark side that we've all read so much about," star Neil Patrick Harris, 34, said Thursday night at a West Hollywood party for the show. In the episode, which will air March 24, Spears plays a receptionist at a dermatologist's office, and she falls for one of the show's main characters, played by Josh Radnor. Spears, 26, shot her scenes Wednesday and Thursday. "She was hilarious in the table-read, and...
