- She was a cast member of the radio comedy series "The Navy Lark", which starred Jon Pertwee, who also played the Third Doctor in Doctor Who (1963). She later appeared in the series when it starred the Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy.

- Started running her own dancing school, then went on to be a comic feed to Nat Mills in variety, then did comedy routines with Ronnie Corbett and Victor Spinetti in strip clubs (she kept her clothes on). She finally moved to legitimate theatre through Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop.
