- During the last five years of his life he maintained a romance with Paulette Simonin.
- Fathered six children by four different women: daughter Jacqueline (b. 1922) with first wife Marie Louise Marthe Richard; daughter Daniele Clariond Tappou (b. 1936) with ex-mistress Renée Simonot; daughter Marie-Thérèse (b. 1938) and son François Aimé (b. 1942) with ex-mistress Jeanne Sully; son Bernard (b. 1938) and daughter Irène (b. 1944) with mistress-turned-second-wife Irène Morozov.

- He was never able to join the Conservatory : he failed the entrance examination three times.
- Aimé Clariond was very marked by the First World War in which he took part. Mobilized in the infantry September 12 , 1914, he was promoted to corporal in December and even sergeant in May 1915. He was wounded by a bullet in the chest on May 15 , 1915in Neuville-Saint-Vaast . Returning to the front in the ranks of the 101st infantry regiment in December, he was taken prisoner of war on June 1 , 1916in front of the Fort de Vaux . Sergeant Clariond was interned in the Chemnitz camp from which he was repatriated in December 1918. Poured into a section of Clerks and administration workers , he was finally returned to civilian life on September 11 , 1919.
- He entered the Théâtre de l'Odéon , where he performed the "classics", in 1921, before joining, from 1926, the troupe of André Antoine and then that of Lugné-Poe at the Théâtre de l'Oeuvre . At the same time, he began a film career which would prove to be exceptional for a theater actor.
- He was a French stage and film actor.
- He was hired as a boarder at the Comédie-Française4 on March 1, 1936 by Édouard Bourdet who had just been appointed general administrator by the Popular Front government. He was appointed member the following year on March 1, 1937, and he resigned on September 1, 1946. He was reengaged as a boarder on December 1, 1948, and reinstated to the rank of member on January 1, 1950. He remained so until his death in 1959.
- Aimé Clariond interpreted the classical repertoire: 'Alceste du Misanthrope' by Molière, Othello in 'Othello' by Shakespeare, 'Antoine' in Antoine et Cléopâtre, adapted by Gide and directed by Barrault.
- He was decorated with the Legion of Honor in 1954, and the Croix de guerre 1914-1918.
- He was buried in Fouquenies (Oise) on January 4, 1960. In his honor, the Comédie-Française took an exceptional break that day.
- He then married Irène Morozov (1912-1998), of Russian nationality and the adopted daughter of Pierre O'Connell, with whom he had two children, Bernard Clariond (1938-2000) and Irène France Aimée (1944-1998). the last five years of his life he maintained a relationship with the actress Paulette Simonin.
