Star of the German classical stage, trained under Lucie Hoeflich and Ilka Gruening. Often in youthful heroic roles. Residencies at the Munich Kammerspiele (1938-40) and the Berlin Schillertheater (1940-44). Film appearances few.
Horst Caspar died at the age of only 39 at hemoptysis.
