- Was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award six times: in 1960, with collaborator Saint-Subber, as producer of Best Play nominee "The Tenth Man;" in 1961, with collaborator Fred Coe, as producer of Best Play nominee "All the Way Home;" in 1962, again with Coe, as Best Producer (Dramatic) and as producer of Best Play nominee "Gideon;" in 1963, again with Coe, as producer of Best Play nominee "A Thousand Clowns;" and in 1972, with collaborator David Merrick, as producer of Best Play nominee "Vivat! Vivat Regina!" He never won.
