Charles Lederer and Luther Davis wrote the book based on the play by Edward Knoblock. He and George Forrest wrote the music and lyrics based on the themes by Alexander Borodin. Lemuel Ayers was set designer. Frank Thompson was costume designer. Jack Cole was choreographer. Edward Greenberg was director. Richard Rodgers was producer.
- (2017) Henry Calvin also played Joshua Sharp in an NBC radio show ( produced by Disney ) called "The Big Guy" Calvin played a private detective of the name ,Joshua Sharp, who had 2 children.
