Directed by Paul Dudbridge from a script written by Philip Daay and based on a concept from Monika Gergelova, Fear the Invisible Man is described as being a “period action thriller”. It tells the following story: Adeline, a young British woman, shelters an old medical school colleague, a man who has somehow turned himself invisible. As his isolation grows and his sanity frays, he schemes to create a reign of wanton murder and terror across the city – and Adeline...

First things first, Fear the Invisible Man is not a sequel to the 2020 version of The Invisible Man although I’m sure the film’s makers won’t mind if you think so. Instead, it’s an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel that, unlike most adaptations of his work, keeps the book’s Victorian setting.
Griffin is in a race against time to finish his experiments. The reason, his landlord and a bailiff are pounding on the door, ready to evict him. Injecting himself with it moments before they kick in the door, his flesh and bone vanish and he escapes, though not before causing an explosion that kills them and destroys his lab.
Elsewhere Adeline is disbelievingly reading about a series of crimes supposedly caused by an invisible man.

Invisible Men happen – at least a dozen cinematic ones inspired by Hg Wells’ novel, to date. After the highly acclaimed 2020 version by Leigh Whannell, it was hard to see where else a modern one might usefully go, so Paul Dudbridge and his team have probably done the smart thing by taking theirs back to the end of the 19th Century, the period when the book was first written. Where Whannell focused on finely drawn cruelty and paranoia, they have used much bigger strokes to construct a tale full of high drama and sinister schemes, moral angst and social outrage.

This one looks like a polished indie production, playing out closer to the original Universal Monsters classic than Leigh Whannell’s updated reimagining. Some of the digital effects work is a bit rough, but otherwise this one looks to be well worth our time.

The Eastern Front is the story of some German soldiers whose unit has been all but decimated (we are told). The men are making their retreat (I think) from the Russians back to there homelands on the Eastern Front. Somewhere on the way they have picked up some pretty tasty (I mean fighting wise you perverts) Russian dames, and because there are females in the mix everything is going to fall apart for our band of merry Nazis. [Full disclosure before we crack on, this movie took me about 4 attempts to finish both due to the 2-Hour length and I have been working quite a lot lately]
Over the last few years I have come to find that behind the scenes on these movies, especially lower budget indie stuff, their is a team of hardworking individuals that are trying to create something they can be proud of when they send out into the world. This movie is absolutely no exception.

English actor Jamie Bacon, who has never been to Scotland, is to play the lead role in a film about Bonnie Prince Charlie.
The Great Getaway will follow the Young Pretender's escape across the Western Isles, after defeat at Culloden in the failed Jacobite rising of 1745.
Having previously appeared in small roles in little-known British indies, this is Bacon's first major film role. Although previously linked with American actor Jake Abel, executive producer Robbie Moffat has said that Bacon would be "perfect" for the part.
Of the decision to cast an English actor, Moffat said: "Bonnie Prince Charlie was born in Rome to a Polish mother and an English father. He did not have a Scottish accent.
"One of the things this film is trying to do is rid the story of its myths."
In fact, Bacon actually has something in common with the Scottish Prince.
"I've never been to Scotland before.

Jon Rosling’s micro-budget feature secures distribution deal.
Eye Films has secured a global distribution deal for Five Pillars with Us-based Ytinifni Pictures.
Jon Rosling’s feature stars George Newton, Tom Bott and Mhairi Calvey, and tells the story of a group of people whose lives collide in interweaving stories of liberty, identity, tolerance, responsibility and class.
Rosling commented: “The film itself was made on a mega-micro-budget - just £3,500 - so it was an additional challenge as an indie film-maker to make a feature length film, of quality and capable of release. We feel we have a film that can stand confidently alongside some bigger budget productions.
“This distribution deal with Ytinifni Pictures is the best offer for us because gives a global reach for Five Pillars.”...
