- Philip Cahn was born on June 18, 1894 in Manhattan [now in New York City], New York, USA. He was an editor and director, known for I've Been Around (1935), Black Friday (1940) and Nurse from Brooklyn (1938). He died on September 28, 1984 in Thousand Oaks, California, USA.
- American editor of Polish ancestry, in Hollywood from 1913. Unsuccessfully tried his hand at chicken farming. Subsequently joined the Universal editing department, where his brother Edward L. Cahn was already employed. Under contract as full editor, 1933-1946. Co-founder in 1937 of what is now the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
