- She was awarded the C.B.E. (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to Ballet.
- She trained at the Royal Ballet School in London. In 1980 she won the Prix de Lausanne. She joined the company in 1981 and was promoted to Principal in 1992.
