- The screenwriter, painter and director Gerhard T. Buchholz first studied art at the Kunstakademie in Königsberg and after a successful exam he began his artistic career as a stage designer at the theater Königsberg.
- He dedicated to the writing in the 30s and from 1937 he also wrote screenplays for movies.
- He also produced few movies and he directed the movies "Amico" (1949) and "Postlagernd Turteltaube" (1952).
- After the war he tried twice as a director and as a producer with his Cologne-based Occident Film Production GmbH. He repeatedly addressed problems in divided Germany.
