Animals Asia has unveiled the location of its new sanctuary in Bach Ma, Vietnam, bringing them a step closer to ending the cruel, outdated and illegal practice of bear bile farming in the country.
The practice has been pushing Asiatic black bears (aka moon bears), and Malayan sun bears towards extinction in the country. To celebrate this milestone, a host of global superstars joined the organisation’s founder and CEO Jill Robinson MBE to unveil the location of their new sanctuary.
Jill Robinson MBE, has been a pioneer of animal welfare in Asia since 1985 and is widely recognised as the world’s leading expert on the cruel bear bile industry, having campaigned against it since 1993. “This is a truly historic day. We are witnessing another monumental chapter in our collaboration with the Government of Vietnam that will lead to a definitive end to bear bile farming”, Jill says. “Vietnam is...

Terror Films has acquired the worldwide digital rights to Marcus McCollum’s feature film debut, “Noise In The Middle”. Check out the trailer:
After the sudden death of his wife Sara, Richard, a grieving and emotionally ill-equipped father, is left on his own to care for his severely, non-verbal autistic daughter Emmie. Before her death Sara had arranged for Emmy to partake in an experimental therapy and rented a house near the facility where the treatments would take place. Little does Richard know the house has a haunted history. While Richard struggles with his wife’s death he soon realizes he has no patience, skills, or even any empathy to deal with Emmie’s condition and begins to find solace in drinking and drugs. As the spirits in the house grow restless, so does the noise in Emmie’s head, awakening her psychic abilities along with Richard’s personal demons.

Ricky Gervais, pop star Mýa, actors Dame Judi Dench, Olivia Newton-John and Tzi Ma, and renowned conservationist Dame Jane Goodall have come together to record an impassioned video calling for a reset of humanity’s relationship with nature in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis and its zoonotic origins. However it’s two baby bears who have stolen the spotlight.
In mid-July, as the celebrities recorded their video messages, Animals Asia rescued two three-month-old moon bear cubs that had been illegally trapped and put on sale on the black market, and are now taking care of them at the Ngo’s sanctuary in Tam Dao, Vietnam.

Ray Donovan is our working-class James Bond, all crisp shirts and well-tailored suits, straight whiskey and a baseball bat. However, the premiere of “Ray Donovan” Season 6 suggests a series well into its decline, one that transfers our antihero from Los Angeles to New York in an effort to reinvigorate the show’s scrappy energy.
While it’s risky to judge a season by the single episode available for review, the disappointment here is familiar. The herky-jerky flashback storyline that defined Season 5 was a clumsy mess that suggested the writers’ room relocated to an ayahuasca retreat. Those conceits have gratefully vanished, but now we’re left with Ray as a depressive thug who’s swapped his style for a baggy flannel shirt and a well-worn Yankees cap. And where’s the fun in that?

Having revolutionized the television landscape by pioneering the modern phenomenon of binge-watching and bringing Oscar-caliber actors to the small screen, Netflix is now setting its sights on feature programming. Today, the streaming giant has firmed up plans to release its first sequence of theatrical-quality pics, including Beasts of No Nation and The Ridiculous Six.
Beasts of No Nation, directed by True Detective helmer Cary Fukunaga, will be released on Netflix and in select theaters on October 16. The award-tipped drama focuses on a child soldier (Abraham Attah) stolen away from his family and recruited into a civil war effort under the brutal tutelage of a warlord (Idris Elba). Its day-and-date theatrical and streaming bow will qualify the pic for Oscar attention, which had been a worry after the major theater chains boycotted the film over concerns that Netflix wasn’t honoring the typical route for theatrical releases.

Joe Manganiello will appear in Netflix's upcoming Pee-wee Herman film.
Judd Apatow is producing Pee-wee's Big Holiday for the streaming service, with Paul Reubens reprising his classic comedy character.
Pee-wee's Big Holiday will follow Herman as he goes on his first-ever vacation, which turns out to be an epic journey.
Reubens hailed Manganiello as being "tremendously talented" in a statement issued to Deadline today (April 8).
"I am so glad we are finally going to get to work together. This totally makes up for being cut out of Magic Mike and Magic Mike 2," Reubens joked.
Manganiello returned Reubens's compliments by referring to the Pee-wee Herman creator as "one of the great comic geniuses" of the era.
"Growing up, my Saturday mornings were all about Pee-wee Herman," added Manganiello. "I saw everything he did. I can't believe that I'm going to get to share scenes with one of the iconic figures of my childhood.

Amidst all the happy endings as True Blood concluded its seven-year run, Pam’s was perhaps the happiest. Kristin Bauer van Straten talked to EW about Pam and Eric’s final scenes, the way the crew tortured her throughout the season, and what Pam’s reaction would have been to Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Ginger (Tara Buck) finally having sex had we seen it. And yes, she cried.
EW: It feels like in the end, Pam gets Eric back to herself.

Jessica reminded Hoyt of their love story and Sam left Bon Temps for good in True Blood’s penultimate episode “Love Is To Die.”
In the basement of Fangtasia, Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) are furious when Bill (Stephen Moyer) refuses to drink from Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) and cure himself from Hep-v. Bill says he is at peace with his impending death, and Sookie slaps him a few times, telling him that, right now, he is choosing to die – it isn’t fate, it’s his choice. When Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) finally stops Sookie from continuing her assault on Bill, Jessica steps in and demands that Bill release her. Bill tells her how proud he is of her, and releases her as her maker before turning and leaving. Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Eric comfort Jessica and Sookie, respectively.

Every good horror story needs a scream queen, and for True Blood, that's Ginger. Until last night’s episode, much of what we knew about the character played by Tara Buck was scream-related. Warning: Spoilers about the most recent episode of True Blood to follow.Via flashbacks, we finally got to see what a pre-glamoured Ginger was like, both as a college student and as the ultimate vampire groupie — one who actually dreamed up the concept and name for Fangtasia. "Who would have guessed?" giggled actress Tara Buck. This glimpse of past Ginger helps set up an actual trajectory for the previously one-note character, who might have seemed so far regressed that there was no room for growth, but then, at the end of the season, "we may have a chance to see how she evolves," the actress teased. Buck chatted with Vulture about her wish for a Pam-Eric-Ginger threesome,...

There is plenty of screaming on True Blood. But it's Fangtasia cocktail waitress Ginger's shriek that rises above all the rest. So popular is her screaming that there are YouTube compilations dedicated to her piercing screeching. So what else would ask the woman who plays her, Tara Buck, to do at last night's season-seven premiere, but scream? And that I did. Tara let out a bloodcurdling scream that literally caused everything on the carpet along Hollywood Boulevard to come to an abrupt halt.
