In August of 2003 his brother, James Brown, published "The Los Angeles
Diaries," a memoir of growing up in a dysfunctional family troubled by
crime, alcoholism, drug abuse and the ultimate suicides of his two
siblings, Barry Brown and Marilyn Brown, the latter having killed
herself by jumping from a bridge into a concrete Los Angeles river bed.
