While not exactly manual labor, acting can be quite physically strenuous, including for actors working in television. From the long working hours to arduous stunts and strain on mental health, television acting is hard work. These working conditions can occasionally lead to the performers becoming physically ill from their experiences, sometimes affecting the actors for the rest of their lives. In fact, some of the most iconic TV shows in the history of the medium have had notable instances where their actors have become sick from the experience.
Here are several major instances of actors becoming physically sick from their TV show roles. In many of these incidents, the afflicted actors pushed through, and their ill performance actually made final cut of the episodes, becoming a part of television broadcast history. But, as they say in Hollywood, the show must go on and these actors definitely demonstrated their full commitment...

We have good news to share, horror fans. There's another new horror movie you should be on the lookout for this August, and it's the film Strange Darling, starring Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner. This movie joins other theatrical horror flicks slated to be released in August, such as Cuckoo starring Hunter Schafer and M. Night Shyamalan's Trap.
Strange Darling is a horror-thriller written and helmed by indie American genre filmmaker Jt Mollner. This is his second feature. He's best known for writing the script for and directing the Western film Outlaws and Angels, which stars Chad Michael Murray, Francesca Eastwood, Teri Polo, Frances Fisher, Luke Wilson, Madisen Beaty, and Ben Browder. Joining Mollner in the crew is Giovanni Ribisi, who not only produced the horror-thriller flick but also served as Director of Photography. Other producers of the film include Bill Block, Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, and Chris Ivan Cevic.

25 years ago The Sci-Fi channel (SyFy these days) brought onto the airwaves a series unlike any ever seen before. Farscape took the idea of weird and ran with it in a universe filled with the bizarre, the beautiful, and both at the same time.
Created by Rockne S. O’Bannon, the man behind Alien Nation, Farscape introduced viewers to creatures and aliens of all different shapes and sizes. Some of them were people and others were beyond anything we could imagine. And we all saw it and experienced it alongside lost astronaut and scientist John Crichton, played by Ben Browder. Crichton was the only Actual human around and was the perfect stand in for the rest of us.
The series would be brought to life by the Jim Henson Creature Shop under the eye of Brian Henson (who we interviewed yesterday). The shop would create and design various aliens that were both puppet and person…...

The hunt for the legendary Bigfoot continues to inspire filmmakers and storytellers and we’ve got a trailer for a new film for you to check out today called Hoax.
The film follows a team who travels “deep into the wilderness after a group of young campers are viciously murdered and linked to Bigfoot. The highly specialized crew search for evidence and fight to survive the powerful beast. If they work together they may live to prove the existence of bigfoot, but what they discover may be more unexpected and dangerous than anything they could have imagined.”
Bigfoot is out for blood, though, and primed to kill anyone who comes after him. The horror film actually looks like it could be pretty brutal. This could end up being a surprisingly good film!

The McU gets cosmic in James Gunn's brilliantly bonkers space opera – a film that opened up the shared universe to new possibilities

Guardians of the Galaxy’s classic triumph of the underdog story is well known by now. Ben Browder's film Bad Kids of Crestview Academy starts with a bang, with a Swat-team storming a school. The policemen find mutilated bodies, a crashed Porsche, and a schoolgirl who literally opens fire on them (pun intended: she uses a flamethrower). Flashback to 8 hours earlier, when said schoolgirl arrived at Crestview Academy for a day of detention, together with four spoilt-rotten-rich kids. So what the hell happened in those eight hours? That mystery, in short, is the motor which keeps the film moving. And it's unfortunate that it runs out of gas a little too fast, because up to the third act there is actually a lot of fun to be had. Bad Kids of Crestview Academy is the sequel to Matthew Spradlin's 2012...

You all remember 2012’s comic adaptation of Bad Kids Go To Hell, right? Probably not. Most seem to have missed Matthew Spradlin’s under-the-radar private school thriller, but – nevertheless – Ben Browder makes his directorial debut with the film’s follow-up sequel, Bad Kids Of Crestview Academy. Once again, a handful of rebellious, not-so-angelic students find themselves serving a deadly detention sentence where anything goes. Sex, drugs and adorable kitten videos – these kids are anarchists to the core, soaked in spoiled-teens-so-rotten-you-want-them-dead appeal. Welcome back to creator Barry Wernick’s educational house of horrors, just don’t mind the stripped-down nature of this barebones continuation.
Sammi Hanratty stars as Siouxsie Hess, a Crestview student seeking vengeance after the death of her sister Alyson (Ashlyn McEvers). Not too long ago, the academy held a party where Siouxsie’s sister supposedly committed suicide. A handful of students corroborated the same story, all of whom...

New Mexico in the late 19th century, as shown in Jt Mollner’s “Outlaws and Angels,” is a land where zealotry and hypocrisy go hand and hand, where Thomas Hobbes’ “nasty, brutish and short” characterization of human nature guides every interpersonal relationship. While that may not be an inaccurate characterization of what small-town life was like in the American Southwest during the Cleveland administration, “Outlaws and Angels” overestimates its own elegance, delivering a misguided ode to frontier ugliness.
Fittingly, “Outlaws and Angels” opens with a bloodbath, a bank heist gone wrong that leaves a Us Marshall dead. The gang responsible for the crime, armed by ringleader Henry (Chad Michael Murray) and laden with the fruits of their labor, quickly seek refuge from their newly-earned bounty. Starving and with no means of transportation across the Mexican border, the group happens on an unassuming farmhouse, home to the local preacher George Tildon...

Like a heavy Southern drawl that lazily meanders through conversation, Outlaws And Angels drags its scenes far longer than contextually necessary. Imagine a Southerner leaking “Hooowwwwdddyyy folkssssss!” like a deflating balloon instead of clear, concise dictation (“Howdy!” and done). Characters just glare at the screen as director Jt Mollner has a field-day with zoom ins and outs that turn his dried-out, rawhide script into a crackly piece of fragile leather. Overindulgence mars this grim, rough-and-tumble Western splatterfest, which is comparable to a more interesting (but still tiresome) take take on Jane Got A Gun (with a darker, strangely jovial mean streak). Death certainly was a byproduct of the Old West, but could people really be so terse about it all?
Mollner’s tale of frontier justice follows three robbers who interrupt a family’s dinner and demand safe haven for the night. Led by a ruthless drifter named Henry (Chad Michael Murray...

“Outlaws and Angels” follows Henry (Chad Michael Murray), a seasoned outlaw who leads a gang of bandits into a high stakes bank heist set to make them all rich and give them a chance at a new life across the Mexican border. Unfortunately, the plan goes awry and they end up killing a U.S. Marshall. With a large bounty on their heads, Henry and the gang head south through dangerous territory. When all hope seems lost, the crew stumble upon the frontier home of George Tilden (Ben Browder), who lives there with his wife Ada (Teri Polo), and two daughters Charlotte (Madisen Beaty) and Florence (Francesca Eastwood). They invade the home and terrorize the family, but eventually unlikely bonds form and Henry is given one last shot at redemption. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below when Henry and the bandits learn that there’s a bounty on their heads.

"Sounds to me like he done bamboozled you." eOne and Momentum have released this official Us trailer for the indie western Outlaws and Angels, which first premiered at Sundance earlier this year. From director Jt Mollner, the film is about a group of outlaws who try to seek revenge when a gang of criminals attack a local family. The full cast includes Chad Michael Murray, Francesca Eastwood, Madisen Beaty, Ben Browder, Frances Fisher, Keith Loneker, Luke Wilson and Teri Polo. This actually looks more like something Tarantino would appreciate than a full-on western, with a big twist revealed in the trailer. Enjoy. Here's the official Us trailer for Jt Mollner's Outlaws and Angels, in high def from Apple: When Outlaws on the lam invade the home of an unsuspecting, seemingly innocent, frontier family to hide out for the night, an unexpected game of cat and mouse ensues, leading to seduction,...

After a strong start, 10 seasons and multiple spin-offs took Stargate Sg-1 further and further away from its original premise...
I’ve recently had time to catch-up on the staple of afternoon television when I was a lad, Stargate Sg-1. First launched in 1997, it ran for ten seasons and it’s aged surprisingly well, in no small part due to it being heavily character-driven and fairly horror-focussed for its first two runs. This is most likely thanks to its first five seasons airing on sex-and-guts cable channel Showtime, while its later seasons aired the more clean-cut Syfy channel in the Us. All in all, it’s rip-roaring sci-fi; the kind of ‘explore and fight with interesting plots and great character arcs’ storytelling that filled the void left by successive Star Trek series which never quite captured the wonder of the unknown in the way that the Original Series or The Next Generation did.

Three bank robbers walk into a dysfunctional home on the prairie in Jt Mollner‘s cold-blooded Outlaws and Angels, filmed and premiering at Sundance in glorious 35mm. The premise naturally evokes Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, particularly when it comes to the outlaws, however light their presence may be. Amongst the three groups — the outlaws, the Tildon family and the law — angels, too, are largely missing in the film.
Opening on a small farm estate we are briefly introduced to the Tildon clan: patriarch George (Ben Browder) is a tough recovering alcoholic who attempts to get right with the Lord, even if his daughters Flo (Francesca Eastwood) and Charlotte (Madisen Beaty) aren’t buying it. Short on life outside of the homestead (they’re told most of the eligible bachelors in town have taken ill) they remain the ward of George until they are liberated by a band of outlaws.

From Doctor Who to Buffy and Supernatural, we celebrate the TV finales that turned out not to be their show's final episodes after all...
Most shows are lucky if they get one finale. So many series are abruptly cancelled before they can make any preparations at all, it’s the lucky few that are given a chance to finish off their story arcs and say goodbye to their characters. And then there are the very few shows that, having managed this impressive feat, are unexpectedly renewed and find that their finale isn’t a finale after all. Here, we celebrate five episodes that would have been excellent series finales, but for the minor point that they aren’t, in fact, the series finale.

What new horrors await us on DVD this month? Well, lots of bloodsuckers, for starters...
As the old Simpsons quote goes, there are only three real monsters, kid: Dracula, Blacula and Son of Kong. Sadly, giant gorilla junior doesn’t make an appearance this month though we’ve at least got the first two categories covered.
Leading the way with aplomb, our friend Blacula finally graces this young blog with not one but two classics released on Blu-ray and DVD as a complete collection. In case you’re not familiar with this wonderful splicing of seventies Blaxploitation and gothic horror (shame on you if so), the tale of undead African prince Mamuwalde and his ongoing struggle with both his own bloodlust and pesky locals trying to stake him through the heart is both surprisingly well-made and massively enjoyable. Doctor Who, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Star Trek, The Simpsons... Juliette talks us through 10 great TV anniversary episodes...
With so many TV shows being cancelled after a season or two, it’s perhaps not surprising that those that keep going long enough to reach a significant milestone often want to mark the occasion in some way. Such celebratory episodes usually feature plenty of nods, in-jokes and references to past episodes and characters (frequently involving special guest stars from the show’s past returning in some form) and tend to be either light, sometimes metafictional comedy episodes, or extremely dramatic game-changers following which the show may never be the same again. If you’re not crying with laughter, you’ll probably be weeping at the emotional trauma inflicted by the story.

The cult sci-fi drama's four seasons - comprising 88 hour-long episodes - will start airing next month.
Farscape movie "not out of the question", says Rockne S O'Bannon
Pick TV is not believed to have the rights to follow-up mini-series The Peacekeeper Wars.

The planned film would be set several years after The Peacekeeper Wars and would follow the 19-year-old son of Crichton and Claudia Black's Aeryn Sun.
