Had his own nightclub in Los Angeles, Ben Blue's, and was part owner of the famous Hollywood nightclub "Slapsy Maxie's" with Maxie Rosenbloom.

Survived by his second wife, former Dixie Dunlap ("Scandals" performer) and two sons, Tom and Robert.

Interred at Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City, California, USA, in the Mausoleum, Columbarium of Graciousness, #810.
