Distinguished character actor, for many years on the Berlin stage. Made his reputation for comic performances under the direction of Max Reinhardt at the Deutschen Theater. Prolific film appearances from 1913. Did his best work in early silent films by Murnau, Lubitsch and Lang.

Just recently they discovered a copy of the presumed missing movie "Die ideale Gattin" (1913) - an early Ernst Lubitsch movie in which Paul Biensfeldt played the leading role.

The actor Paul Biensfeldt was a popular actor who was gladly engaged by well-known directors.

The sound film offered Paul Biensfeldt some interesting roles too, among them "Hokuspokus" (1930), "Das Flötenkonzert von Sanssouci" (1930) and "Der weisse Dämon/Rauschgift" (1932).
