Angela Bertolino
- Additional Crew
A native of Sacramento, Angela moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to pursue
acting after she had written, produced and hosted "Everyone's a Critic"
and "Get Real," which were marketed toward teenagers and aired
throughout Northern California. Following substantial local success,
Angela packed up her Volkswagen Fox on a chilly fall afternoon with the
goal of succeeding in the cutthroat entertainment industry.
Out of sheer curiosity, she fell into extra work. It was on the set of a made for cable movie that she met Carla Lewis, cofounder of Hollywood OS®, and learned that they shared similar experiences of being scammed by talent agencies. Tired of being duped into spending thousands of dollars for headshots and registration fees, Angela realized a need for an unbiased launching point for those interested in finding work in the entertainment industry. To their astonishment, not one company offered guidance or advice to actors and extras in Los Angeles.
Instead of becoming victims, Angela and Carla saw a unique opportunity to make a difference in countless others who will come to Los Angeles with ambitions of making it in Hollywood. It was this idea that fostered the beginning of Hollywood OS® in 1997, where Angela and Carla began publishing two books for new actors as well as provide an interactive Website for casting directors and talent.
