Paying Tribute tells the story of a veteran named George who hiked the entire 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail to honor his fallen comrades. Directed by Angus Benfield and Kendall Bryant, The Keeper follows George as he carries the name tags of 363 veterans who lost their lives to suicide.
After losing his best friend in a failed attempt, George sets out on a solo mission to raise awareness of the crisis among former military members. He hopes his journey will prevent others from sharing the same tragic fate.
On his walk from Maine to Georgia, George encounters other hiker veterans who provide company and meaning along the way. Their shared bond and understanding offer solace during challenging times on the trail. Exclusive: Scatena & Rosner Films has acquired worldwide rights to The Christmas Letter, a holiday comedy starring Angus Benfield (The Keeper), Chevy Chase (Community), Randy Quaid (The Last Detail), and Brian Doyle-Murray (Groundhog Day). Marking the feature directorial debut of Tori Hunter, the film is expected to be released in theaters later this year.
The Christmas Letter follows an unemployed copywriter who receives an annual braggadocious Christmas letter from his well-to-do friend who’s great at making our hero feel less than. "No One Walks The Trail Alone." Lama Ent. has revealed the official trailer for an indie drama called The Keeper, opening in theaters this Memorial Day weekend in May. Based on a true story. Heavily impacted by his fellow veteran's suicides, George Eshleman, an Army Veteran, decides to raise awareness for military member suicides by hiking the entire nearly 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. On the trek, he carries 363 name tapes from the uniforms of military who committed suicide, given to him by their families. Along the way he is given the trail name of "The Keeper" (of the names) and finds support and comfort from fellow hikers, civilians, and military Veterans alike, in the "Hiker Universe." This adventurous subculture forms a network of hikers that revel in their common purpose and an unspoken meaning of life that drives them down the trail and over the next peak.
