It’s judgment day for the remaining explorers on The Summit. After a grueling journey, it has come down to the final four contestants: Trader Joe’s employee Jeannie Geyer, Air National Guard Master Sgt. Punkin Jackson, VP of Sales Nick Morgan, and server Therron Pittman. The finale sees the four trekkers reach an impassable chasm with the end possibly in sight. In order to make it to the other side, they must use a helicopter long line to cross one by one. In the middle of the obstacle, they’ll discover a devastating twist from the Mountain’s Keeper. They find out the last person will be left behind as payment for the assistance. Harsh. From there, the surviving three receive a shocking revelation from host Manu Bennett. One that involves seeing the return of 13 eliminated members of the group. These familiar faces will play a pivotal role in the final outcome.

Can you believe it’s been over a decade since Spartacus first brought its blood-soaked, action-packed drama to our screens? Back in 2010, this hit show redefined the historical epics with its unapologetic intense storytelling and raw actions. Though Gladiator and Rome did lay the groundwork for sword-and-sandal greatness, Spartacus intensified the level, delivering four seasons of unforgettable action.
Of course, it wasn’t just the on-screen drama that had us hooked to our screens, behind the scenes, the heartbreaking loss of Andy Whitfield after Season 1 broke our hearts. But the series persevered, with Liam McIntyre stepping in to finish this epic saga of the Thracian rebel leader.

And the legacy of the legendary storyline has now returned once again with the upcoming spinoff, Spartacus: House of Ashur. Reportedly, Starz is revisiting the story but with an added twist, what if Ashur, the scheming underdog...

A jolly The Price is Right contestant won a vacation that left fans lost for words. The getaway was more enticing — and expensive — than the game show’s usual fare. And it was doled out by a surprise fellow CBS host in a winning TV crossover. In a clip from a recent episode shared by Tpir’s YouTube on Thursday (November 7), Drew Carey called on the sweet-as-could-be Linda from South Carolina to play the Cliff Hangers game. Cliff Hangers entails a hand-painted aluminum mountain climber who climbs up a mountain based on how far the contestant misses the prize’s price, and missing it by too many causes the mountain climber to plummet to his doom. Carey revealed an “extra special treat” was in store. In honor of CBS’ new series The Summit, host Manu Bennett joined the show for a crossover to introduce a trip for two to New Zealand.

When “The Summit” returns to CBS for its second episode, it will unveil exactly what host Manu Bennett meant when he referred to “The Mountain’s Keeper” and her difficult choices.
Or, as the episode logline puts it, “After an unexpected twist reverberates throughout the group, game plans shift as they begin to tackle harder terrain. While the trekkers are challenged with crossing an extremely rickety bridge, emotions surge as the Mountain’s Keeper arrives with a shocking choice for the trekkers to make, leaving one person’s fate hanging by a thread.”
In the video above, get a sneak peek of how The Mountain’s Keeper intends to test the remaining contestants. As Bennett points out, their first task was meant to expedite their progress. “But,” Bennett intones sadly, “they chose empathy over the objective. Now, to get them back on track, The Mountain’s Keeper will force their hand.

Remember when we thought we were going to get a Deathstroke film set in the DC Extended Universe? Good times.
Well, even though that didn't happen, Slade Wilson could be coming to James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as the character is set to co-headline his own DC movie, along with none other than fellow Batman villain Bane. And fans of the anti-hero couldn’t be happier.
We've waited years to see Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke, properly represented in a solo film. Back when the live-action universe was still the Dceu, fans thought they’d finally get a taste when Joe Manganiello suited up as Deathstroke in the post-credit scene of Justice League. You know, the one where the movie was "average at best," and we all left feeling like we deserved more. Manganiello looked like he was plucked right from the pages of DC comics,...

New Zealand just might find itself flooded with American tourists after CBS’ The Summit airs. When the series premiere opens, we’re greeted with gorgeous raging rivers, plummeting waterfalls and thunderous mountains. Soak it in. It’s all breathtaking, even from the comforts of the couch, isn’t it?
Host Manu Bennett (Spartacus, Arrow) explains the setup. Sixteen Americans will be tasked with climbing a monstrous peak in just 14 days. If successful, they’ll earn their share of $1 million. But challenges and stunts will test them along the way, including difficult decisions that will force them to flex some strategy and turn against each other.

Villains really are the new superheroes.
DC Studios has tapped screenwriter Matthew Orton (“Captain America: Brave New World”) to write a feature film that will involve Batman villains Bane and Deathstroke, Variety has confirmed. The project is still in its infancy: There are no stars or director attached, and DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have been clear that they will not greenlight a project until they are satisfied with a complete screenplay.
The movie follows a growing trend in the superhero space of projects focusing as much on the villains as on the heroes, from the ongoing HBO series “The Penguin” and Disney+ series “Agatha All Along” to Warner Bros. upcoming sequel “Joker: Folie à Deux” and Sony’s upcoming Marvel adaptations “Venom: The Last Dance” and “Kraven the Hunter.”

Batman villains Bane and Deathstroke will appear together in a new movie at the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DC Studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The script is being developed by Matthew Orton, whose upcoming work includes Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World. No director is attached to the project.
Introduced in the early 1990s, the brutish Bane is best known for Tom Hardy’s menacing portrayal of the character in the 2012 Christopher Nolan film The Dark Knight Rises. More recently, a comical take on Bane has been voiced by James Adomian in the animated series Harley Quinn.
Meanwhile, the former Army operative Slade Wilson/Deathstroke has been portrayed by Manu Bennett in Greg Berlanti’s CW series Arrow and Joe Manganiello in a post-credit scene of Justice League. DC loves spotlighting its villains, and THR reports that another villain-centric project is in the works. The outlet has heard that DC Studios is developing a movie that will unite Bane and Deathstroke. Matthew Orton, who worked on Captain America: Brave New World, has penned the script but no director is attached to the project.
DC has always excelled at highlighting villains, with the recently released Penguin series starring Colin Farrell as an example. We’ve also got Joker: Folie à Deux coming next week. I’ll confess that I’m not a big comic-book guy, so Deathstroke and Bane seem like a random pairing, but I’m sure the more comic-literate among you will be able to set me right. Maybe they’re good buds.

It’s finally that time of year when we can get excited for the fall television schedule to begin! However, one network in particular will be short on premieres for September 2024: CBS. Instead of every one of their new and returning shows coming back during the regular schedule, a good majority of them are premiering in October. So which five shows are premiering in September?
Even though a majority of the shows coming in September are not the standard procedural or comedy shows, we will still have a dose of reality among the returning and new players. In addition, we will get to see a sneak peek of a new series, Kathy Bates’ Matlock, after the airing of CBS football on Sunday, Sept. 22.
If you are into news and investigative series, then you will be able to mark your calendars for two of the best-known shows, 48 Hours and 60 Minutes.

CBS' Fall TV slate will boast a new reality action-adventure competition in The Summit. Set in the New Zealand Alps, the series is not for the faint of heart but that's to be expected from a program set to air its first season after Survivor--the network's longest running unscripted programming in this genre.
The Summit takes 16 strangers and throws them together in what CBS is calling a "once-in-a-lifetime journey" as they do their best to reach the peak of the mountain before them. CBS isn’t eager for summer to end. The Eye network has opted to push its premiere week — normally held the third week of September — to mid-October, with one big exception: “Survivor.”

Stephen Amell starred as Oliver Queen a.k.a Green Arrow in the CW series Arrow. The show spawned the Arrowverse, including shows such as The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and more. It went on for eight seasons, ending in 2019. The show crossed over with other shows in the Arrowverse and saw many prominent DC characters make an appearance.
While the show included popular characters such as Deathstroke, Black Canary, and the Monitor, the makers revealed that they never intended to introduce some of these characters so early into the show. Characters such as Deathstroke and Arsenal a.k.a Roy Harper appeared in season 1 of the show despite being planned for much later.

One major problem that plagued most Arrowverse shows was CW’s inability to end them at the right time. While most of them started on a high note, especially Grant Gustin’s The Flash, which was the biggest superhero show on TV upon its release, the writers couldn’t carry the momentum in the later seasons. But things could have been very different for the CW show that started it all, Arrow.
Had CW stuck to the original plans for the show, Arrow could’ve ended on a really high note, as instead of going on for 8 seasons, season 5 was originally intended to be the show’s end.

DC Comics has no dearth of power packed characters. Who wouldn’t be afraid of the might of Superman or even Darkseid for that matter. And the wit of Batman needs no introduction. But what if we told you that there is one character in the comic book universe who has got Bruce Wayne’s wit and talent for strategy, while he has also got Superman’s brawns. There is one, though – Deathstroke. The mighty assassin is one of DC Comics’ most dreaded. But the Arrowverse could not do the character justice.

Liam McIntyre as Spartacus
Starz is ready to return to the world of gladiators with a new chapter in the Spartacus franchise. Spartacus series creator Steven S. DeKnight is also diving back into ancient Rome as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the new series.
“It’s such an incredible honor to be invited to return to the world of Spartacus and to be met with unbridled creative support from my colleagues at Starz and Lionsgate,” said Steven S. DeKnight. “Together we are crafting something truly unique and unusual for the next chapter in this epic story.”
DeKnight took to Twitter to confirm he’s currently writing the pilot.
Spartacus aired for four seasons on the network, kicking off in 2010 with Spartacus: Blood and Sand starring Andy Whitfield in the title role. Tragically, Whitfield passed away in September 2011 of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Liam McIntyre took over the role beginning in season two.

Everyone, get out your swords and sandals because we're heading back to the arena! Starz has just announced that it is currently developing a new "Spartacus" series! Forgive the excessive use of exclamation points, but I loved every minute of this show from the first moment to the last, including the prequel "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena."
The first season of the series was entitled "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" and debuted in 2010. Before the second season, star Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with early-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma, leading to the prequel to give him time to recover. Sadly, he passed away, and the role was recast with Liam McIntyre for season 2, "Spartacus: Vengeance" and season 3, "Spartacus: War of the Damned."
The show was, as our title says, very sexy. Still, it was also a compelling drama about the titular Thracian gladiator who led a revolt of enslaved people against the Roman empire.

Thorns: "Something terribly wrong is happening inside NASA’s Iron Mountain observatory. It received an image from a deep space probe from what appears to be the edge of the solar system. On screen an eclipsed planet of unknown origin. Could this be the fabled 9th planet mankind has been searching for? An eerie signal transmits over the speakers, a rhythmic drone possibly a signal from the planet? But wait, something more. Deep within the signal, a faint sinister chatter. It sounds demonic. Have we discovered life across the galaxy? Down the hall, a distraught scientist, Dr. Malik. sits on the cold restroom floor looking unkept and unshaven. He hasn’t slept in days and appears deeply unnerved. Voices in his head motivate him to the mirror where he looks deep into his eyes. Wait, what is that? Something crawling in his eye? A black shape slithers across his sclera.

(Los Angeles, CA) The dystopian science-fiction audio drama Broken Road, created by Fear The Walking Dead writer Jacob Pinion and Hero Mode producer E.J. Kavounas, has published its entire ten-episode first season, following a veteran struggling with obsolete military implants who teams up with a defiant farmer and her daughter against a corrupt, morally unhinged lawman. The first season has reached over 100K downloads.
Broken Road offers something for everyone: action-packed fight scenes, quiet moments of personal struggle, romantic tension, and human connection. At its core, it is a story of community-based resilience and resourcefulness in the face of unrelenting corporate greed and seemingly insurmountable forces. Based on the short story “Patience Lake” by Matthew Claxton, writers Pinion and Kavounas were inspired by the subject.

New Zealand’s Tūhoe people have faced more than a century of aggression for daring to keep their culture alive. As relayed at the start of Tearepa Kahi’s thriller Muru (a Māori word for their process of redressing transgressions), the facts are undeniable. In 1916, the police staged a raid to arrest Tūhoe prophet Rua Kenana on charges of sedition (he would later be acquitted and instead charged with resisting). A half-hour gunfight ensued leaving two dead and six wounded. Then the police staged another in 2007 to arrest leader Tame Iti for organizing what they called a “domestic terrorist” cell only to later apologize and admit their actions set relations back decades. It’s no wonder the film’s first frame states that New Zealand’s police don’t “endorse” its content.
