Pundit for international and domestic Rugby Union with Sky TV (November 2003)

He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) before being awarded the Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2019 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Rugby Union Football. He is the Chairman of the World Rugby in Lytham, Lancashire, England.

He was awarded the KGC (Knight of the Grand Cross of the British Empire) in the 2024 King's New Years Honours List for his services to Rugby Union Football and to Charity in Lytham, Lancashire, England. He is the Chair of World Rugby.

The Beaumont pub in Clayton-le-Woods, Chorley, Lancashire was named after him. He was the guest of honour at the opening of the pub in 1985, it closed in 2023.
