Richard John Baker was born in Montreal, Canada. His father was a part time
musician, and recognized Richard's talent at the age of three,when he
began playing melodies on the piano which he had heard on the radio. He
gave his first public performance at the age of five, and began to play
professionally in his dad's twenty piece dance band when he was 12.
Although best known for his work in the studio, as a musician, arranger, producer, programmer, and as a touring musician, Richard has also been actively involved in scoring for film and television. He brings a very broad range of musical experience, and skill to any project, having achieved success recording, and producing with such artists as Uncle Cracker, Santana, Yes, Gino Vannelli, Gary Wright, and many more.
His classical training at McGill University and dynamic and varied career, bring a unique and professional quality to every project.
Clients include: USA Network, SciFi Channel, Miramax Films, Lion's Gate, NBC, Kraft Foods, Hyatt Hotels, The Discovery Channel & Fox Reality TV.
