Mir Bahmanyar is of German and Iranian heritage. Mir graduated from the University of California at
Berkeley with a B.A. in History. He also served in the Second
Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, US Army. He is a fluent German
speaker.
As producer his film Soldier of God won the prestigious "Best HD Film" at the Deep Ellum/AFI Film Festival in 2005. Soldier of God also won "Best Picture" at the Stratford-upon-Avon International Film Festival and the Berkeley International Film Festival in 2005/6.
