Rory Aylward is a New York City-based Military Technical Advisor who recently worked on an episode of "BULL" for CBS, Simon Kinberg's "Invasion" for Apple and consulted on feature film scripts for Jennifer Todd and others. Before the shut down he stayed busy on a court martial episode of the CBS legal drama "The Good Fight," the 1967 Newark Riot scenes for "The Many Saints of Newark" as well as episodes of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," "Madam Secretary" as well as the "Y" Pilot for FX.
9/11 found Rory conducting a course on how to prepare for natural and man made disasters for the National Guard Bureau at the National Interagency Civil-Military Institute and before long he was the Team Chief for Anti-Terrorism training. He later deployed to the Nuristan Province of Afghanistan as a Civil Affairs Officer, where he became an expert on Interagency Operations. He redeployed and was asked to help set up the first Civil-Military Integration training in State Department history where he trained and mentored members of the Departments of State and Defense who were deploying to Afghanistan before deploying again himself; this time to Kunduz Province. Since retiring from the United States Army Reserve, he's continued to train members of various government agencies including Foreign Service Officers, advisors to the Defense and Interior Ministries of Afghanistan, deploying Rifle Companies and Staff Officers and NCOs of the United States Marines as well as MISO Battalions of the United States Army Special Operations Command.
Before the War, Rory served as a Military Technical Advisor on a number of films, including "Courage Under Fire" and "A Bright Shining Lie" He also developed the script and served as an Executive Producer on the Hallmark Channel Christmas drama "Silent Night."
