Lana and Lilly Wachowski used to work as a filmmaking duo, bringing us the likes of Bound, The Matrix and its first two sequels, Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas, and Jupiter Ascending, while also scripting the likes of V for Vendetta and Assassins, plus creating the TV series Sense8. In recent years, they have been focusing on separate projects, with Lana making The Matrix Resurrections solo while Lilly has been working on the Showtime series Work in Progress and a movie called Trash Mountain. Now, during an interview with Autostraddle, Lilly has revealed that she has several other projects in the works, including an adaptation of the horror novel Manhunt.
Lilly Wachowski said, “I have my fingers in a lot of different projects. Some of the projects are big, some of the projects are small, but they’re all queer and trans. I’ve just written a script with my partner...

Garrett Hedlund charms on and off the screen, and in his latest role as Mitch on Tulsa King, he’s no exception.
Mitch, the former rodeo rider and bar owner, brings a grounded yet aspirational energy to the ensemble led by Sylvester Stallone.
Sitting down with Garrett via Zoom, it’s easy to see why his portrayal of Mitch resonates with fans — he approaches the character with warmth and complexity.
(Brian Douglas/Paramount+)
When we asked Garrett why Mitch eagerly teamed up with Dwight, he offered a layered perspective.
“Mitch was getting by… He was living a safe life, paying his dues because of some past mess-ups,” Garrett explains, revealing Mitch’s more vulnerable side.
Yet, Mitch always had an undercurrent of ambition, one waiting for the right spark to ignite it. Enter Dwight Manfredi, Stallone’s larger-than-life mafia capo.

Wynonna Earp is finally returning home to Purgatory, three years after going on the road to battle her most dangerous villain yet. If you’re a Patricia Cornwell fan, you know Kay Scarpetta.
Cornwell’s work with that character was so influential in my life that I can remember exactly where I was when reading certain novels.
But I can’t lie. The last person I wanted to play Kay was Nicole Kidman.
So, the deal is that the series has landed a two-season deal with Prime Video. Kidman will play Kay, and Jamie Lee Curtis will play her sister, Dorothy.
Five others have also been added to the series, including Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale, Emmy nominee Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, and Jake Cannavale.

Fox’s new mystery series, Murder in a Small Town, premieres Tuesday, September 24.
It’s adapted from L. R. Wright’s nine-book series about detective Karl Alberg, who hopes to escape his city cop life for quieter coastal living but still finds more secrets and murder amidst the small town.
Rossif Sutherland plays Karl Alberg, while Kristin Kreuk portrays Cassandra Mitchell, the local librarian and Alberg’s love interest and muse.
(James Dimmock/ Fox)
TV Fanatic has the pleasure of chatting with Sutherland and Kreuk, where they shared their enthusiasm for the series and how it differed from other crime procedurals.
Both actors shared that while the weekly cases were fascinating, the series’s draw will be the development of Karl and Cassandra’s relationship. We can’t wait to see that blossom.

The aptly titled Tulsa King Season 2 premiere finds Dwight “The General” Manfredi back in the saddle, alright.
He’s fighting for his life, giving advice behind bars, and expanding his business, all while navigating new enemies poised to take action to either scuttle or take over his successful Tulsa operation.
Don’t get me wrong; I know he’ll prevail. What’s the point of a show with Sly Stallone behind bars? But still, Dwight’s got a lot on his plate.
(Brian Douglas/Paramount+) Are The Walls Closing in on Dwight?
Thanks to his arrest, it’s the first time anyone has paid attention to Dwight’s Tulsa presence, making things much harder on The General.
Maybe that’s why he constantly toys with the idea of going legit. It’s got to be hard to thrive with that kind of stress. There is always someone out to get him.

The made-for-tv Wynonna Earp movie “Vengeance” sparked discussion among fans following its release on the streaming service Tubi. The 90-minute special focused on demon hunter Wynonna Earp and her allies battling corruption within the Black Badge organization. However, two significant character deaths caused disagreement among viewers of the long-awaited reunion special.
One death dividing fans was Doc Holliday, played by Tim Rozon since the show’s 2016 debut. In a pivotal shootout scene, Doc gunned down five opponents but suffered a fatal wound. Rozon said he supported the creative choice, feeling Doc “died for the one that means anything to him.” He wanted Doc to go down fighting, which the script provided. Co-star Melanie Scrofano called filming the scene difficult but credited the director’s sensitive handling.
Some fans applauded killing off the beloved Doc for story purposes. Others expressed sadness losing the character. Rozon acknowledged different viewpoints, saying as an...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Wynonna Earp: Vengeance.] We may have only gotten 90 more minutes of Wynonna Earp with the Tubi special Vengeance (now streaming), but every single one of those was fun, heartbreaking, and jam-packed. We’ve already broken down the major moments with the cast and creator Emily Andras here, but read on for more from Scrofano, Rozon, Barrell, and Andras as they answer more burning questions after that special. While several television series have focused on relationships and sex, not many address the assumptions about sex, feminine appetites, or stereotypes as honestly as Starz’s Three Women does.
The series is based on Lisa Taddeo’s #1 New York Times bestselling book. While adapting a narrative nonfiction book is challenging, the series kept most key elements intact, changing only two major things.
The series follows Gia (Shailene Woodley) as she acts like the real-life Lisa Taddeo and researches and writes her book about relationships and sex in America. Taddeo thought that adding Gia’s character and story made her more relatable, and the other women would likely open up.
(Courtesy of Starz)
The series premiere introduced us to everyone’s stories, beginning with Gia’s.
Many episodes focus on one of the women’s arcs, allowing viewers to learn how Gia interacted with each other and the details of each woman’s journey.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Wynonna Earp: Vengeance.] Come on, there has to be more Wynonna Earp after that Vengeance ending, right? “Never bet against Earp and never bet against this fandom,” creator Emily Andras tells TV Insider. “I think it’s important to live in the present, be so grateful that we even got resurrected this time. You know more than anyone how many fan campaigns there are to save a show that’s gone down. We are one of the very few lucky ones, and I’m ever so grateful. But yeah, I would say if every fan watches it 200 times and keeps making noise, I’m ready to go. Once I dove back in, I was like, oh my God, I do have so many stories left to tell about this world and these characters. So I will never say no to Earp. I would love the chance to tell more.” The original Syfy series...

By now, you have seen Wynonna Earp: Vengeance on Tubi, and you know this special is much more than a fun detour in Purgatory.
This is a story with real consequences, and we caught up with creator Emily Andras to get her take on it.
Like all things Earp, Emily is passionate and filled with life. Don’t be alarmed when it appears as if the claws come out. The conversation was lighthearted and emotional and packed a punch. It’s exactly what you’d expect from the woman who brought Wynonna, Waverly, Doc, and Nicole to life!
Warning: Massive Spoilers Ahead! Don’t proceed if you haven’t already watched Vengeance!

With all the reboots, remakes, adaptations, and resurrections out there, it was just a matter of time before Lord of the Flies made its way to the forefront. William Golding’s 1954 classic is no stranger to film adaptations, with versions in 1963 and 1990 that remained more or less faithful to the source material.
However, Lord of the Flies is both simple in its thematic depictions and complicated, especially at a time of bloated budgets, intense fan scrutiny, and political messaging.
For every movie or TV show that honors the source material, often resulting in fan and critical praise, there are ten that take a chainsaw to the original classics before curb-stomping them for good measure.

On the bright side, Lord of the Flies is staying home. BBC commissioned it with Sony’s backing, and it will release on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and Stan.

If Sauron, the great antagonist of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, could take the form of a weapon capable of unraveling the greatest high-fantasy books of our time, it would be Amazon’s Rings of Power.
Jeff Bezos’ itch to create a Game of Thrones-like alternative on Prime was a great idea on paper. If only it remained that way.
Years prior, Peter Jackson dared to adapt Tolkien’s massive, mythological world, resulting in one of the greatest film adaptations of our time, though it had its flaws.
(Matt Grace/Prime Video)
The Rings of Power is no such thing.
In many ways, it’s not even an adaptation but some distant cousin, inferior and sulking in the darkness — the Gollum of modern-day visual storytelling.
In a sane world, the Rings of Power should follow the path of Eomer, exile from Rohan, but for far better reasons.

There is a gunfight sequence, glimpsed in the trailer for Tubi’s 90-minute Wynonna: Earp Vengeance special, that in full is pretty damn cool.
But to hear series star Melanie Scrofano tell it, filming the scene was more than cool. It was painfully frigid.

Wynonna Earp is one of those shows that never became hugely popular but that had a fiercely devoted fanbase for its entire run. Armed with her special gun Peacemaker, it's Wynonna's job to send reincarnated criminals called revenants back to hell. She did that for four straight seasons on Syfy, but still has unfinished business. She'll close the final chapter in Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, a 90-minute special dropping on Tubi on Friday, September 13. So very soon! Watch the trailer below:
“The past is never that far behind us, and some of it might be showing up looking for vengeance, so to speak, in the special,” creator Emily Andras teased to Entertainment Weekly, putting that writer's brain to good use with some colorful verbiage. “The heart, the laugh-out-loud wit and action-packed sequences that were always a part of the series are still in the special. This cast has not missed a step.

“Wynonna Earp” wasn’t going to keep the fans waiting forever for more stories.
The cult series wrapped it’s four-season run back in 2021, and thanks to a small but incredibly mighty fan base that campaigned vocally online, a new 90-minute special is set to air on Sept. 13 on Tubi called “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance.”
Creator Emily Andras told Entertainment Weekly that the show had stories planned for a fifth season but Season 4 was – luckily – written with some closure in mind. Now the special will tie things up once and for all.
“We had been ordered for a season 4 and a season 5, but things were kind of up in the air,” Andras said. “I thought: It’s better to write an ending that is satisfying and if we’re blessed with another season, I can blow it all up. My gamble paid off, for better or for worse.”

Based on the Idw comic book by Beau Smith, the Syfy series Wynonna Earp was “a fast-paced, contemporary thriller” that followed Wyatt Earp’s great-granddaughter as “she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice.” The show did well, running for four seasons and 49 episodes from 2016 to 2021. Three years later, it’s set to get a 90 minute follow-up special called Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, which will be released through the Tubi streaming service.
Vanity Fair broke the news of the follow-up special, which has been written by the show’s creator and executive producer, Emily Andras. They were also able to confirm that Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna herself), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dom Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), and Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) are all reprising their roles, and “other familiar...

Spoiler Alert: This post includes details about the series finale of Syfy’s Wynonna Earp.
It all came full circle for the Earp sisters in the series finale of Syfy’s Wynonna Earp. The supernatural series from creator, executive producer and writer Emily Andras, went out with a bang as Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano), Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and the rest of the gang gathered for one last family gathering at the homestead.
The final episode “Old Souls,” written by Andras, finally brought Waverly and Nicole Haught’s (Katherine Barrell) long-awaited wedding to center stage. As the soon-to-be newlyweds (a.k.a. WayHaught) prepared the Earp homestead for an intimate ceremony, Wynonna tries on her sister’s wedding dress for cheap thrills. The fun comes to an end when she realizes the wedding gown is impossible to remove, even when a non-Vampire Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) attempts to cut it off her body.

It's been a tough few years for Wynonna Earp, both on screen and off. On screen, the titular heroine turned 27 and, thanks to a family curse, was forced to re-kill all of the outlaws originally killed by her ancestor Wyatt Earp. Off screen, the show was nearly canceled after season three due to financial problems, made it to season four, and then got actually canceled. The Earp curse is now technically broken and the show will end on Syfy in just a few weeks, but the fight continues, both on screen and off. Creator and showrunner Emily Andras has made it clear that she is trying to find a new home for Wynonna. Wynonna herself, Melanie Scrofano, is just trying not to take what she has for...

“Wynonna Earp” fans know better than anyone that the end of the road isn’t always what it seems.
To a fandom that has watched more than one of its main characters return from beyond the grave over the last five years, Syfy’s recent announcement that it wouldn’t be picking up a fifth season of the cult-favorite supernatural series was just another challenge to overcome.
“They’re a formidable group,” Jordy Randall of Seven24 Films, which produces the series out of Calgary, said of the show’s fans. “They have the ability to create situations and outcomes for the show that I’ve never seen before.”
Seven24 is currently in search of new U.S. distribution for the series, and Randall said he is currently in discussions with “several” outlets, though he declined to get more specific.

Seven24 is currently in search of new U.S. distribution for the series, and Randall said he is currently in discussions with “several” outlets, though he declined to get more specific.

The 'weird western' TV series "Wynonna Earp", based on the comic book title by Beau Smith, following the great-great-granddaughter (Melanie Scrofano) of Old West lawman 'Wyatt Earp', has been canceled, premiering the first of the last six episodes March 5, 2021 on Syfy:
"I'd like to thank our wonderful cast and crew, all of whom were instrumental in bringing 'Wynonna Earp' to our loyal and passionate audience," said showrunner Emily Andras.
"I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished over these four seasons and so excited to get to watch the second half of season 4 together," said series star Scrofano.
"There will be tears but there will also be laughs. And crop tops. And family."

As soon as news dropped that Wynonna Earp Season 4 would be the final season of the fan favorite supernatural western to air on Syfy, the next logical question for most fans (including this one) was: could Wynonna Earp Season 5 happen elsewhere? However, it also sounds like there is hope for a different kind of future based on the statement released by creator and showrunner Emily Andras. "I'd like to thank our wonderful cast and crew, all of whom were instrumental in bringing Wynonna Earp to our loyal and passionate audience," she said. "We couldn't be prouder of these last six episodes on Syfy,...
