In 2000 it was strongly suggested that she stop acting because of the deaths of her father and brother. Both died because of strange circumstances while working on their fifth movie. She finished work on her fifth movie in 2001 still alive.

Serves as the CEO of the Bruce Lee Enterprises. Shannon currently oversees the licensing of her father's name and likeness. (March 2009)

Her Cantonese name is Lee Heung Yee; her Mandarin name is Lee Siang Yee.

Daughter of Bruce Lee and Linda Lee Cadwell

Younger sister of Brandon Lee.

Despite appearing in martial arts movies, Lee was not a martial artist and she only trained for a few months in her teenage years. It wasn't until later, in preparation for some actions roles, that she restarted her training in Jeet Kune Do, took up Wu Shu under Eric Chen, Tae Kwon Do, and Kickboxing under Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez.

Her father was of Chinese, and some European (usually described as German), descent. Her mother, who is caucasian, has English, Irish, Swedish, and Dutch ancestry.

Majored in music at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Lives in Pacific Palisades, California.
