Wax On, Wax Off. For those of us who lived through the 1980s, The Karate Kid has been in our lives in one way or another. Even if you have never seen any of the films, you know what Wax On, Wax Off means. In 2018, we got to take a trip back to the All Valley Karate Tournament to see what Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence were up to. The series Cobra Kai became a big hit on Netflix (after moving from YouTube Red), but with that series winding down, are we saying goodbye to our beloved characters? Not quite yet.

Jackie Chan once attempted to break out of his signature comedy style in the early part of the millennium when he made New Police Story, which had him playing a more dramatic role as an alcoholic ex-cop. He would follow it up with 2005’s The Myth, which would be half of an Armor of God-type movie where he played an archeologist and half of a period film where Chan also played a General of a historical Chinese army. Chan returns with a new sequel to The Myth, titled A Legend. This film reunites him with director Stanley Tong, who directed Chan in movies like Rumble in the Bronx and Police Story 3: Supercop.

Well Go USA has just released the trailer for A Legend. Not long after the company unveiled the trailers for the upcoming action films of other martial arts icons, Tony Jaa’s Striking Rescue and Donnie Yen’s The Prosecutor.

We may be nearing the end of Cobra Kai, but the Karate Kid universe will continue with the upcoming feature film. Karate Kid: Legends will find Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio reprising their roles of Mr. Han and Daniel Larusso, and Macchio teased the film while speaking on CBS’s The Talk.

“I’m not allowed to say a lot about it, except another awesome chapter is on its way,” Macchio said. “Ben Wang is a young kid in the show, he’s very exciting to watch. And working with Jackie [Chan], he’s a legend. They found, you know, it’s its own story in the vast universe, you know, so it’s another chapter in a different area that connects the mythology of where it all began. And fortunately, I was the guy that was there when it all began.“

Doctor Odyssey just unleashed a massive twist for Avery that can affect the show and a fan theory!

Doctor Odyssey fans had expected Season 1 to focus on the love triangle between Max (Joshua Jackson), Avery (Phillipa Soo), and Tristan (Sean Teale). Max and Avery hooked up in the pilot while Tristian had long carried a torch for Avery despite being a noted ladies' man.

What no one expected was that Episode 6 would solve this triangle in a wild way by having them share a threesome. They tried to maintain business as usual afterward, but Max soon revealed he couldn't continue this as he only wanted Avery. Tristian seemed into her but knew she might not feel the same way. He did seem ready to move on with the ship's chef Vivian (Laura Harrier).

Twenty-five years later, “Cruel Intentions” will still make you blush.

The 1999 film about high-society stepsiblings Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) and Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Gellar) curing their privileged boredom by corrupting the last shreds of innocence in their peers feels both ahead of its time and like a movie that could never be made today. Littered with culturally insensitive language and driven by unbridled, often taboo sexuality, it was a cultural shock to the system in the waning days of the last millennium.

Replicating even a shred of that ethos was one of the many challenges facing this new version of the story. But perhaps the tallest order for “Cruel Intentions” was making a timeless tale of striving for power through sex feel relevant and revolutionary in the era of Gen Z,...

It’s that time of year again. The broadcast TV shows are taking their winter breaks. Doctor Odyssey is one of the first to air its fall finale tomorrow night, Thursday, Nov. 21.

Usually, we see shows return in January. That’s not the case for Doctor Odyssey or the rest of the Tgit lineup. We have a longer break than we’d like, but this isn’t a bad thing for the series.

Doctor Odyssey is taking its first break for its first season on ABC. When will it set sail again?

One of ABC's flashiest new shows of the 2024 season, Doctor Odyssey, is a throwback to 1970s TV shows like The Love Boat that told anthology stories involving huge guest star actors. That's no surprise, given it comes from superstar producer Ryan Murphy, who draws on his connections for some fun drama. The main focus is on the titular luxury cruise ship that takes passengers on amazing week-long trips.

The pilot has nurses Avery Morgan (Phillipa Soo) and Tristian Silva (Sean Teale), who are surprised to get a new boss, Dr. Max Bankman (Joshua Jackson). Once a top-notch surgeon, Max ended up being "Patient Zero" for the Covid-19 pandemic, which nearly killed him. He's thus decided to cut back to what he figures is going to be an easy job.

It’s Halloween Week on Doctor Odyssey — but did our beloved love triangle bring us tricks, or treats?

Just like clockwork, our two favorite boys, Tristan and Max, butt heads in the beginning of the episode. This time, however, their beef doesn’t revolve around Avery. The pair spar first over Johnny Depp — Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow, to be specific — and then Neptune, when they twice turn up in matching Halloween Week costumes. (These two are so similar, we’re willing to jettison the idea of a throuple and root for a Max/Tristan couple!)

As we get closer to Halloween, a lot of TV shows include scary-themed episodes. Well, Doctor Odyssey is opting for just that with an episode aptly titled “Halloween Week.”

Captain Massey isn’t quite happy with the situation. He makes a note that this is the one week of the year that the ship becomes a clown car, and it’s because of everyone coming along in costumes. Well, even the staff will get involved, as Max opts to dress up as Poseidon.

Of course, things have to take a turn with some sort of medical drama. In this case, it’s a zombie virus. Massey is happy dealing with one or two zombies, but not a ship full of them. It’s almost like this isn’t his first rodeo.

The problem is that this is some sort of contagion.

It’s going to be a cruel (cruel) autumn on Amazon Prime Video.

On Thursday, Prime Video debuted what it called the “enticing” (ew) trailer and premiere date for its “Cruel Intentions” series. All eight episodes will debut on November 21 in the more than 240 countries and territories worldwide in which Amazon Prime Video is available. So, ah, have a super weird family Thanksgiving everyone!

The “Cruel Intentions” series comes 25 years after the iconic film of the same name. Also of the same (or at least similar) names are its “new class of cruel characters,” in Prime Video’s words.

Zac Burgess plays Lucien Belmont, essentially the role Ryan Phillippe played in the 1999 film. Sarah Catherine Hook plays Caroline Merteuil; in the movie, Sarah Michelle Gellar was Kathryn Merteuil.

Savannah Lee Smith plays Annie Grover, the new Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon). Oh come on.

The crowd got the exclusive first look at this highly anticipated project, which blends the Cobra Kai universe and the reboot universe. The Karate Kid: Legends trailer naturally focuses on the three leads. It begins with Chan’s character (Mr. Han) recruiting Wang’s character (Li Fong) at a martial arts academy. Doctor Odyssey actor Sean Teale feels genuine affection for his character Tristan in the ABC medical drama.

“I’m very defensive of him. I like him a lot,” the British actor tells The Hollywood Reporter. “You have to love the person that you’re playing, in a way. I’ve always found that’s been the helpful thing for me.”

In Doctor Odyssey, Teale’s character Tristan is one third of the medical team on the luxury cruise ship The Odyssey, with Joshua Jackson’s Max and Philippa Soo’s Avery acting as the doctor and nurse practitioner, respectively. Although Tristan can come off as abrasive and is instantly resistant to Max’s arrival, Teale is finding and showing the “golden retriever nature” of his character.
