While a student at the Kent State University, she witnessed the Kent State Massacre, when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on protesting students, killing four, on May 4, 1970.

Once asked by a reporter what she had done to help advance her vegetarian views, she joked that she had blown up a McDonald's restaurant. When a misguided fan later did blow up a McDonald's in her honor, she apologized for her accidental role in the tragedy.

In popular music, rock music, there's not as much melody. I mean The Beatles were very melodic but a lot of it's very linear, so you get one line repeated over and over.
