- Eduard Artemyev is a Soviet and Russian composer. He is widely known as the author of music for films by Andrei Tarkovsky, Andrei Konchalovsky and Nikita Mikhalkov.
Artemyev was born in Novosibirsk. He received his primary musical education at the Moscow Choir School. Later in 1960 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. - In 2017 he was awarded the Shostakovich Prize for his Contribution to the Development of World Musical Culture.
