- George Miller was born on November 28, 1943 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He was a director and producer, known for The Man from Snowy River (1982), Matlock Police (1971) and The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter (1990). He died on February 17, 2023 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
- Not to be confused with another Australian director, George Miller, of the Mad Max movies.
- Miller has pointed out an affinity between his work and the writings of comparative religion and mythology scholar Joseph Campbell.
- Best remembered for The Man from Snowy River, which grossed $17.2 million locally on its release in 1982 (the equivalent of $68 million in today's money).
- Sons Harvey and Geordie are in the band Client Liaison.
- Out of high school he landed a job in the mailroom of Crawford Television. By 21 he was working as a cameraman, but after just a couple of weeks he got his big break as a director.
- I don't think audiences want to see explicit violence. But they want to confront those dark feelings.
