Originally from New York, Julie moved to California with her family in
1979. As a child, Julie competed in the U.S. Gymnastic Federation. In 1982, she made her
television debut playing Ricky Schroder's
girlfriend on NBC's
Silver Spoons (1982). This led
to numerous guest star appearances & many film roles. In 1983, Julie
won the Bronze Halo award from the Southern California Motion Picture
Council for Best Up & Coming Young Actress & received a Young Artist
Award nomination for her work guest starring on TV. The following year
Julie landed her first series regular role on Personal & Confidential.
After graduating high school, Julie was awarded a scholarship to attend
The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, West. After finishing 1 year at
AADA, Julie landed the role of Tawny Richards on NBC's
Santa Barbara (1984). Julie
also starred on the UPN series
A.J.'s Time Travelers (1995)
as Maria. Julie continued to work steadily in both TV & film, and in
1997 Julie co-produced & directed the feature film
The Legend of Cryin' Ryan (1998).
Julie shared the award for Best Director of a Feature Film at the
Riverrun Int. Film Festival in Sept. 1998, Cryan' Ryan also won Best
Picture. Julie lives outside of Los Angeles with her husband, Patrick
and their son. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling with
friends, snowboarding and surfing.
