Tina Pehme is a creative partner in Sepia Films, committed to making feature films that engage, entertain and resonate with audiences the world over. For the last two decades, Pehme has developed projects and relationships internationally through her extensive work on US, Canadian and International co-productions. Pehme's background in production allows her to bring a hands-on knowledge of physical production as well as the ability to anticipate production needs in a variety of budget ranges and co-production scenarios. As a partner in Sepia Films, Tina has developed and produced film and television in Canada, the US, The UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Norway, India, China, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.
In 2003 Pehme joined forces with entertainment attorney Kim Roberts and Director Vic Sarin with a mandate to focus on feature film production under the Sepia Films banner. Dedicated to making films that speak to a global audience, Pehme has produced such diverse theatrical fare as Anthem of a Teenage Prophet (2018) starring Cameron Monaghan, Peyton List and Juliette Lewis; the Canada/Argentina/Italy co-production The Games Maker which premiered at Sundance 2015 starring Joseph Fiennes, Ed Asner and David Mazouz; In Their Skin (2012), a suspense thriller starring Selma Blair, Josh Close, Rachel Miner and James D'Arcy which premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Int'l Film Festival; 2010's Canada/Ireland co-production A Shine Of Rainbows, starring Connie Nielsen and Aidan Quinn which premiered at the Toronto Int'l Film Festival and garnered multiple international awards; Partition (2007), an epic romance shot on location in India starring Jimi Mistry, Neve Campbell, Kristen Kreuk and Irrfan Khan; Civic Duty (2007), a psychological thriller which also debuted at Tribeca starring Peter Krause and Richard Schiff and Love on the Side (2004), a romantic comedy starring Marla Sokoloff, Jennifer Tilly and Barry Watson.
In the documentary space, Pehme has produced the globally shot theatrical documentaries Keepers of the Magic (2017), The Boy From Geita (2015), which documents the perilous journey of a young Tanzanian boy with albinism that premiered at Hot Doc's and was screened as special presentation at the United Nations in New York in October 2015; Hue: A Matter Of Color (2013), directed by Vic Sarin and produced in partnership with the National Film Board of Canada, a POV doc that looks at colorism, an insidious form of racisim that occurs within cultures of color; And The Beat Goes On... (2009) an insiders look at the evolution of the superstar DJ featuring David Guetta, Paul Oakenfeld and Danny Tenaglia amongst others. She also executive produced the one hour broadcast documentaries So Many Colors (2010) and A Journey of the Heart (2007).
In 2012 Pehme and Roberts began producing television with a mandate to make feature quality television movies with likeminded partners and top tier talent. Productions include the "Nightmare" franchise for Lifetime and A&E and the highly rated Perfect High starring Bella Thorne.
In 2005 Pehme and Roberts also established development company Honalee Productions to handle their development slate and to facilitate post-production in house, enabling Sepia to see a project from development through to online including visual effects and 3D editorial in house.
With an exciting slate of new projects on the horizon, Pehme continues to explore new ways of entertaining working with like-minded partners bringing powerful, thought-provoking and entertaining stories to screens big and small.
