Brian Berdan
- Editor
- Editorial Department
- Additional Crew
Brian Berdan, A.C.E., has been involved in a "non-genre conforming" range of projects, from studio & independent features to series and commercials.
His first full editor credit was on Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers" ("edited with Oscar-caliber mastery"-Rolling Stone), and he recently completed two documentaries for Stone. Early work with David Lynch led to an Emmy nomination for the revival of "Twin Peaks". Other repeat collaborations include Renny Harlin (action-drama), George Armitage (comedy), William Brent Bell (horror), and Brian Taylor/Mark Neveldine (twisted cinematic exuberance). He also counts himself lucky to have worked with icons like Peter Bogdanovich and Terrence Malick, while his first job out of college (UC Berkeley, English degree) was in the post production division of Lucasfilm.
Beyond his editorial duties, he has contributed music and sound design to numerous films, as well as visual effects and title designs. He has also worked, uncredited, as a film doctor and enjoys the challenge of finding the dropped or missing threads that weave a stronger story.
While he works as a local in Los Angeles, where he grew up, more and more remote work has been done over the past 25 years from his home on an island in Washington State.
