Are you as into “The Masked Singer” as we are? Elton John is on the mend following a “severe eye infection” that the singer says has left him partially blind.
The singer shared an update on social media, in which he opened up about his health, revealing that he got an eye infection earlier this year.
“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” read a statement from John on Instagram. “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
He continued, “I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”

In June 2022, Jason Herbison was on set shooting what was to be the 8,903rd — and final — episode of “Neighbours,” an experience he admits was “very, very emotional.” The cult Australian soap opera — a show he first starting writing for after leaving high school in 1990 and came to oversee as its top exec producer — was coming to a tearful end.
Two years on, almost to the day, and Herbison is now on a short trip to L.A. to see if “Neighbours” — which recently announced that “Selling Sunset” favorite Chrishell Stause is joining the cast — wins a daytime Emmy on Friday from its first-ever nomination.
While the producer describes the remarkable turn of events as “really unexpected and amazing,” the story of how “Neighbours” was effectively brought back from the dead parodies the sort of wild plotline generally only conceived in a daytime drama writers’ room. Usually, it’s soap characters...

Crikey! “Neighbours,” the famed Australian soap opera that helped launch the careers of superstars like Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Chris Hemsworth, Guy Pearce, Liam Hemsworth and Natalie Imbruglia, is getting its first-ever Emmy love.
The show, which has received several nominations and wins via Australian and U.K. TV awards shows, is now a contender on this continent. As an Amazon Freevee show, “Neighbours” has been nominated for the 2024 Daytime Emmys alongside CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” as well as Peacock’s “Days of Our Lives,” ABC’s “General Hospital” and Popstar! TV’s “The Bay.”
Basically, pretty much everything eligible. But how did “Neighbours” make it to eligibility for the first time on these shores? When Amazon Freevee revived “Neighbours” in 2023 (after the show had been canceled the previous year), Amazon MGM Studios became the primary financier and distributor of the series,...

Some of the best music videos are the ones which understand the power of a simple and contained idea. As Director Austin Hutchings mentions below, Radiohead’s Karma Police or Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Maps, for example, are simplistic in plot but iconic through the power of their imagery. The same can be said for Hutching’s video for Kat Duma’s So Long, which sees the singer pose as a runaway bride whose past catches up on her. It’s a video driven by distinctive imagery, one that is quite happy holding a shot to give the audience time to immerse in its world. Dn is excited to present the premiere for So Long alongside a chat with Hutchings where he speaks to the importance of both shooting in practical environments and giving yourself time on set to play and be creative.

[This story contains major spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode five.]
The Walking Dead giveth, The Walking Dead taketh. In its penultimate hour, the Rick and Michonne-centric The Ones Who Live reintroduced one of the mothership series’ most enduring figures: Father Gabriel, the once-cowardly preacher turned warrior-leader of Alexandria, played by Seth Gilliam.
In the same breath, the spinoff also removed one of the franchise’s other most enduring figures from the board: Jadis, aka Anne, aka Jadis Stokes of the Crm, played by Pollyanna McIntosh. Having appeared in three different iterations of The Walking Dead in a variety of antagonistic roles, McIntosh’s erstwhile leader of the Garbage People is now in the heap herself — though, not without putting up as much resistance as humanly possible.
“She died by a bed on the head, an axe wound, a car crash, a walker and Rick’s gun,” McIntosh tells The Hollywood Reporter...

For no particular reason whatsoever — not that one’s even necessary — The X Factor UK has dumped about 30 minutes of mostly previously unseen One Direction footage from the group’s earliest moments together.

Montserrat Luna-Ballantyne is walking in circles, picket sign raised high, with a scant group outside an NBCUniversal gate on a Thursday morning that is beginning to turn warm. The striking Writers Guild of America member (With Love) comes to NBCUniversal frequently — it’s nearby to where to she lives, and she can take the bus — but this morning is slightly different, less dutiful, than a typical three-hour shift.
As songs like Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” and Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” play on a speaker at the gate, Luna-Ballantyne is doing the circuit, from one sidewalk to another, nearby one writer in a Xena: Warrior Princess t-shirt and another in a spaghetti strap dress. She herself is wearing butterfly clips, a choker and earrings shaped like the cartoon cat Luna from Sailor Moon. “I enjoy coming to themed pickets — it mixes it up a little bit,” she says while pausing.

Olivia Rodrigo is finally ready to share some new music, with her new single, “Vampire,” arriving June 30.
Admittedly, beyond the announcement — which is obviously monumental in and of itself — there weren’t that many details about “Vampire” to share. Rodrigo wrote the song with producer Daniel Nigro, with whom she made Sour. The song will also get a special seven-inch vinyl single release featuring Rodrigo’s first demo of the song. Beyond that, all that’s left to do is wait — but what’s two-and-a-half weeks after more than two years?...

The Masked Singer is back, with fans tuning in every Saturday night to try to guess which celebrity is behind each costume.
Comedian Joel Dommett has returned to host proceedings, with 13 mystery stars singing familiar songs on stage, while dressed up in an outfit obscuring their identity.
Guessing along with the in-studio audience and the viewers at home are the judges: Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross.
One way to help narrow things down is checking out who’s been on the series before – as it seems unlikely they’d return to the show (although not impossible).
So here’s a full list of who appeared on seasons one, two, three and four…
Season one
Winner: Nicola Roberts – Queen Bee
Jason Manford – Hedgehog
Katherine Jenkins – Octopus
CeeLo Green – Monster
Denise van Outen – Fox

“I’m an attention wh***,” repeats Tove Lo in a robotic monotone on her fifth album, Dirt Femme. Bang on brand for the 34-year-old Swede born Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, whose sad, confessional bangers once saw her hailed as “the world’s most brutally honest pop star”. So the narratives are dependably punchy through this record, and they’re carried by solidly danceable Eighties and Nineties club beats. Not an original sound, then. But one that allows her more challenging or subversive thoughts to slide slyly into a night out on the town.
Thematically, Lo is always trying to square her bold, feminist, exhibitionist streak (which saw her bare her breasts on stage at Glastonbury) with the anxiety and self-doubt that left her struggling with an eating disorder for five years. The creator of the DC Comics series Pennyworth has revealed the reason behind the widely ridiculed title change.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the series would be retitled Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler for its third season, prompting a wave of derision on social media.
Speaking at New York’s Comic Con, series creator Bruno Heller outlined the thinking behind the change.
“HBO Max did their research, and they discovered a fair few people who had watched and enjoyed the first few seasons of Pennyworth, but had not realised it was about Batman,” he told EW.
“They just thought it was about a bloke who left the army.”
He went on to describe this lack of context as “a bit of an error, in terms of our conceptualisation”.
“It became clear that [changing the name] was just a sensible, matter-of-fact thing to do,” Heller continued. “We came up with a...

Last month, former teen pop star Greyson Chance spoke out against DeGeneres, claiming that she had “controlled” and then “completely abandoned” him after signing him to her now-defunct record label, eleveneleven, in 2010, when he was 12.
The presenter originally discovered Chance after a clip of him singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” went viral, with DeGeneres inviting the pre-teen on her show and starting a trend in which she would often interview the stars of popular internet videos.
DeGeneres has not responded to the claims, although sources claimed that the presenter “went above and beyond” for Chance.
Now singer Puth, who also signed with eleveneleven in 2011 after DeGeneres saw a viral clip of him singing Adele’s “Someone Like You”, has spoken about his own experiences with eleveneleven.

Lorraine Kelly has compared Madonna’s appearance in a recent viral TikTok video to a “boiled egg”.
The singer-songwriter, 64, shared a clip in which she threw a piece of underwear towards a bin, missing the shot, alongside a caption that read: “If I miss, I’m Gay.”
The video is part of a wider ongoing TikTok trend and has been interpreted by fans as Madonna revealing that she is gay.
Reacting to the clip on her ITV series Lorraine on Monday (10 October), Kelly appeared to criticise Madonna’s physical appearance in the video.
“Is that actually Madonna?” she asked. “I don’t recognise her! Honestly, what’s she done? She was so beautiful – why, why, why do women do this to themselves?
“She looks like a boiled egg, she doesn’t look like she’s got any features,” she added. “I’m cross because I really like her. I really do.

Cast your mind back to 1997. Britpop’s bubble had yet to burst, the Spice Girls were the biggest band on the planet, and Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” was inescapable. Then out of nowhere came “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia, a pop-rock banger so perfect it broke airplay records in the UK and Australia. Trying to sing along, badly, to its slide guitar solo was practically a rite of passage.
“Torn” catapulted 22-year-old Imbruglia to global fame, making her the latest Neighbours alum to pull off the tricky transition from soap to pop. But Imbruglia‘s sound and attitude, harnessed enthrallingly on her debut album Left of the Middle, was much more unexpected than her Ramsay Street predecessors. Her pure, expressive and slightly plaintive voice sounded tremendous on the album’s grungey but catchy pop songs, which were underpinned by Garbage-style guitar loops. Whether Imbruglia was exploring sexual jealousy on “Wishing I...

The crowd at Haim's July 21 London show were given a special treat as the band brought Taylor Swift on stage. The 32-year-old, who was dressed in the same Louis Vuitton leather pants as the rest of the band, performed a mashup of her song "Love Story" with Haim's hit "Gasoline."
The group, consisting of sisters Danielle, Alana, and Este Haim, have been wowing crowds on their One More Haim Tour this summer. During the show at London's O2 Arena, they stopped midway through a song before Alana made an announcement. "Wait, you guys. We're in London - we can't play London without bringing out a special guest," she said. "Because not only is this person that I'm about to bring out the most incredible singer, songwriter, producer, f*cking amazing person all around, she's one of our close friends."
Swift then appeared on the stage as the crowd went wild.

Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia joined Olivia Rodrigo on stage in London Wednesday for a performance of her 1997 chart-topping single, “Torn.” The performance comes just days after the “Good 4 U” singer covered the song during a surprise appearance at a dive bar in Manchester.
“Torn” was first recorded by Danish singer Lis Sørensen in 1993 before Los Angeles-based alt-rock band Ednaswap, who wrote the song, released their own version the following year. The song was covered again in 1996 by Norwegian singer Trine Rein — but the uptempo ballad is most closely associated with Imbruglia’s rendition.

Ashley Calhoun, Pulse Music Group’s new head of creative, preaches the power of patience.
Calhoun knows a lot about long plays. She signed beloved R&b artist Kehlani to the publishing and label group in February, after five years of conversation. “There were just a lot of things, deal-wise, that needed to be worked out,” Calhoun says. “She was really focused on building out her catalog and her worth, which she did. And it was the right time for us to sign an artist at that level. It was all timing.

The Kangaroo last appeared on “The Masked Singer” way back on February 12. Back then she made the Top 3 in Group A. On the April 1 episode, she and the other two remaining contestants from Group A joined the trio of talent from each of Group B and Group C. They took to the stage as the Super 9.
Of these nine contenders for the Golden Mask, the Kangaroo has one of the strongest voices. She has impressed the four judges with each of her performances: a lively version of Robyn‘s dance hit “Dancing On My Own”; the Amy Winehouse classic “You Know I’m No Good”; and Rihanna‘s chart-topping “Diamonds.”
