Netflix is not proceeding with more installments of That ’90s Show, Deadline has learned. The news was confirmed on Instagram by star Kurtwood Smith who indicated that the comedy will be shopped elsewhere.

The cancellation comes a little over a month after Part 3 of the That ’70s Show sequel was released Aug. 22. That translates to a two-season run as Netflix releases multi-cam comedies in Parts (aka half-seasons) after their initial run.

The 10-episode first season of That ’90s Show (aka Part 1), which featured appearances by several That ’70s Show stars, including Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Wilmer Valderrama, was followed by a Season 2 renewal for 16 episodes, split into two parts, Part 2 and 3.

Exclusive: Professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka Mjf, of Aew fame is the latest to join the cast in Netflix‘s Happy Gilmore 2, starring Adam Sandler.

Fans of “That ’90s Show” can expect new episodes sooner than they previously anticipated. Part 3 of the Netflix comedy’s second season will now premiere on Aug. 22 rather than the previously announced Oct. 24.

Season 2 of the “That ’70s Show” spinoff was divided into multiple parts, an increasingly common trend for the streamer. The first half premiered in June. Netflix announced the news on X via its Netflix Is a Joke account on Tuesday.

Family Guy will not return to Fox until early 2025, but viewers can see a Halloween special released on Hulu in October. Glen Powell, who stars in this summer’s biggest blockbuster movie, Twisters, will guest star in the special.

Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Mila Kunis, Seth Green, Patrick Warburton, and Arif Zahir star in the Family Guy animated series, which has aired for 22 seasons on Fox. The network announced the renewal for season 23 in January 2023.

The Simpsons is bringing some huge names to Springfield this fall! At San Diego Comic-Con last month, producers spilled the details on celebrity cameos and creative collaborations coming up in Season 36.

Kicking things off is Conan O’Brien in the episode “Bart’s Birthday.” Conan was actually a Simpsons writer way back when, so it’ll be fun to see him back where it all began. Danny DeVito is also stopping by the party – he first played Homer’s brother Herb years ago, so viewers will be curious to see what role he plays now.

Another big name making his Simpsons debut is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I mean, John Cena! The former wrestling-turned-movie star seems like a natural fit for the show’s silly humor. And can you believe they got Tom Hanks too? The Oscar winner has never appeared on the show before now.

Current box office ‘it’ man Glen Powell has been tapped to guest star on the first of two “Family Guy” holiday specials set to run exclusively on Hulu. In a Halloween-themed episode that will premiere on October 14, Powell will play “Patrick McCloskey,” the reigning champion in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest. Also guesting on that episode: Derek Jacobi as the voice of Stewie’s beloved teddy bear, “Rupert.”

Per the logline, the Halloween episode follows Peter and his friends as they “aim to unseat the reigning champion (Glen Powell) in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest by any means necessary.” The Powell and Jacobi castings were announced Saturday during the “Family Guy” panel at San Diego Comic-Con. After introducing the final clip as coming from a “super fan,” Matt Groening — who created the animated Fox series that is soon to launch its 36th season — set up footage of a laughing Harris delivering a well-known line from a previous “Treehouse of Horror” episode. The clip was recorded years ago by a group of University of Chicago students who were tasked with getting an elected official to recite a Simpsons quote.

“We must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom,” Harris said in the clip. It led to big cheers from the crowd, who appeared to assume that the moment was filmed for the panel, given that no context was provided about the clip.

The Simpsons is partnering with the folks from Stoopid Buddy (“Robot Chicken”) to take on “Venom” in this fall’s annual “Treehouse of Horror” extravaganza. In this case, Homer meets his match with “Denim.” It’s the 35th “Treehouse of Horror,” and the show is promising “the scariest 35th Halloween special ever.”

Creator Matt Groening, showrunner Matt Selman and producers Rob Lazebnik, Jessica Conrad and Tim Bailey joined guest moderator Kevin Smith to discuss “Treehouse of Horror,” other episodes and special voices from the upcoming season.

Martin Mull, who played Colonel Mustard in Clue, Roseanne’s boss Leon Carp in the ABC comedy Roseanne and starred on Norman Lear’s Fernwood 2 Nite, died Thursday at his home. He was 80.

The news was revealed by his daughter Maggie Mull, an exec producer on Family Guy.

“I am heartbroken to share that my father passed away at home on June 27th, after a valiant fight against a long illness. He was known for excelling at every creative discipline imaginable and also for doing Red Roof Inn commercials. He would find that joke funny. He was never not funny. My dad will be deeply missed by his wife and daughter, by his friends and coworkers, by fellow artists and comedians and musicians, and—the sign of a truly exceptional person—by many, many dogs. I loved him tremendously,” she wrote.

On Saturday, Can’t Hardly Wait co-writer/director Deborah Kaplan announced a stage musical in the works based on her and Harry Elfont‘s 1998 cult classic teen movie, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ethan Embry, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green and Charlie Korsmo.

She shared the title art and tagged the official Instagram profile for Can’t Hardly Wait: The Musical, writing in the caption, “And that’s all I’m able to say @canthardlywaitthemusical #comingsoon.”

Kaplan tells Deadline that she and Elfont are “mostly benevolent godparents watching from the sidelines” on the upcoming musical.
