Despite excellent reviews and good word-of-mouth from fans, Transformers One is having a bad time at the box office this weekend. Deadline states the highly anticipated animated prequel is only on track for a $26 million weekend. That’s just a little less than the $30 million we predicted – which was way more than industry projections, which saw the film opening with $40 million (wishful thinking).
There’s a good chance Transformers One will be beaten at the box office by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in its third weekend, with that movie on track for a terrific $25 million. And Transformers One isn’t the only good movie struggling to find an audience this weekend. The Substance, one of the best body horror movies since The Fly, only looks like it will make in the $2.5-3 million range. It’s being distributed by the streamer Mubi, who’ve opted to capitalize on the buzz and give it a big 2000-screen release,...

Saturday Am: Paramount and Hasbro Entertainment’s Transformers One, despite an A CinemaScore/5 stars & 92% PostTrak positive, isn’t as robust as anticipated with a $26.3M opening, though still solid for a fall animated movie. That’s because it’s more boys than fanboys.
Holding strong is Warner Bros’ third weekend of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at $25M, -51%. The numbers say everything in terms of the staying power of that Tim Burton-directed Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder movie. As we told you yesterday, by Sunday, the sequel is gonna pass the domestic of Shang-Chi ($224.5M). Some magic tricks working in Beetlejuice 2‘s favor is its hold on evening PLFs. Despite the near dead heat that some are spotting at this minute, the notion is that matinees will put Transformers One over the top.

Remember Green Day’s catchy tune, Nice Guys Finish Last? Well, if you need proof, just look at Tom Cruise striking out on a date in his prime! Who would’ve thought that the man who can bring enemies to their knees couldn’t get Heather Locklear to swoon?
Indeed, from rescuing his partner on-screen as Maverick in Top Gun or performing jaw-dropping stunts as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible, one would think that wooing a lady would be part and parcel of Cruise’s repertoire.

But even the most charming leading men trip over their words. The actor has had three marriages. Oh, and let’s not forget his list of high-profile romances, like those with Cher and Locklear. But hold your horses; let’s talk about that time he crashed and burned on his first date with the latter.

Angelina Jolie was the one who filed for divorce from Brad Pitt just two years after their marriage in 2014. They had been in a relationship officially since 2006 when they first confirmed it with the announcement of expecting their first child together. According to a 2018 insider source, Jolie allegedly regretted her decision to separate from the Bullet Train actor.

However, another source close to Pitt suggested the same year that he didn’t want to revisit his marriage to Jolie, claiming that she wasn’t the woman whom he fell in love with. Things would get ugly between them after Pitt sued Jolie for selling shares in a winery they co-owned and Jolie countersued him alleging physical and verbal abuse.

The fall festival trifecta of Venice/Telluride/Toronto traditionally have been venues for the serious start of Oscar season. But that kind of awards-season mojo has been shifting, however slowly, with the most recent Best Picture winners, Oppenheimer and Everything Everywhere All At Once, released July and March of their respective years. In fact, the big Oscar opponent and BAFTA winner to the latter title, All Quiet on the Western Front, also defied the odds, having first played at Berlin in late winter of 2022, around the same time Everything Everywhere debuted at SXSW.

George Clooney is admitting that he would have preferred a wide theatrical release for Apple original film “Wolfs.”

Plot: Two top-level fixers (Brad Pitt and George Clooney) with underworld connections must overcome their rivalry when a job goes awry.
Review: Wolfs is getting a curiously unceremonious release, considering the talent involved. There was a time when Brad Pitt and George Clooney doing a buddy action movie together would have been an event. And the movie’s good to boot! Yet, Wolfs, which comes from director Jon Watts, who made the Tom Holland Spider-Man Trilogy for the MCU, is getting a quiet one-week theatrical run before its debut on Apple TV Plus on September 27th. It’s playing on precisely one screen here in Montreal and was not screened for critics.
So, what’s going on here? Probably, Apple is still licking its wounds from the embarrassing failure of their mega-budget movies, Argylle and Fly Me To The Moon, which, despite huge casts, cratered at the box office. Their...

It’s Amy Ryan who opens the action in Wolfs, Apple Original Films’ George Clooney-Brad Pitt reunion that sees those longtime co-stars go head-to-head as rival criminal underworld ‘fixers’. A rumor had been going around that Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope was being developed into a remake. And World of Reel is now confirming that the project is indeed happening and the film may be securing David Fincher to direct. Fincher was recently trying to develop a remake of another Alfred Hitchcock classic, Strangers on a Train, which was said to be eyeing Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck to star. However, now it seems as though Fincher is instead opting to remake Rope as, according to Netflix’s Kasey Moore, the film is moving forward. Denzel Washington and/or Charlize Theron may be up for roles in the film.
The plot synopsis for the Alfred Hitchcock original reads,
“Just before hosting a dinner party, Philip Morgan (Farley Granger) and Brandon Shaw (John Dall) strangle a mutual friend to death with a piece of rope, purely as a Nietzsche-inspired philosophical exercise.

Everyone makes mistakes. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a tinker, a tailor, a rich man, a poor man, a beggar man, or a streaming service owned by a major tech company that dabbles in film production. Or, for that matter, a female district attorney in New York City whose entire political persona is based on being tough on crime, and is now sitting in a posh hotel suite looking at a dead body. How the handsome young corpse in the tighty-whities ended up being her problem isn’t important.

While fans greatly appreciate Tom Cruise’s performance and stunts in the Mission: Impossible and Top Gun franchises, his one role often goes underappreciated. Cruise turned into a cold-blooded hitman in Michael Mann’s 2004 thriller film, Collateral. Mann was impressed with how Cruise perfectly fit the sociopathy of the film’s villain Vincent.

Mann also revealed the Method acting of the actor. The director’s words about Cruise make him a perfect candidate for Quentin Tarantino’s final film. Tarantino’s films usually feature such unhinged characters, who show traits of borderline psychopathy. Cruise’s Collateral villain even feels like a character right out of a Tarantino film.

There was never a time when Denzel Washington wasn't on a hot streak. Not only does Washington have a talent for picking interesting or unique projects, but he also has the acting acumen to back up whatever he selects. Even when he's decided to make a mainstream genre thriller, clunky crime flick, or brutal, brainless actioner, he is always present, bringing nuance and texture to his performances. It also helps that Washington has become a go-to collaborator for multiple talented directors, having worked with Spike Lee, Antoine Fuqua, Carl Franklin, Jonathan Demme, and both Ridley and Tony Scott multiple times apiece. He has also taken it upon himself to produce 10 movies based on August Wilson's plays, two of which have already been made.
Washington's hot streak in the mid-1990s included, in a row, "Much Ado About Nothing," "The Pelican Brief," "Philadelphia," "Crimson Tide," Virtuosity," "Devil in a Blue Dress,...

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are easily two of the biggest names in Hollywood. They are, in fact, the personification of the word. You cannot possibly think of Tinseltown and not talk about the two most important residents in it. It is a damn shame that they haven’t starred alongside each other since 1994’s classic, Interview with the Vampire, owing to the reported feud between them.

Fans and media have been speculating about the animosity between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt since time immemorial. According to the Troy actor, the two of them are like the North Pole and the South Pole. Insiders have also talked about their feud time and again, but it looks like Tom Cruise might not really feel too ill towards his former co-star.

Edward Norton &Brad Pitt were actually drunk in the golfing scene in Fight Club (Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video)
David Fincher’s 1999 classic Fight Club’s legendary for its dark humor and killer story. Remember the slick soap salesman who becomes Edward Norton’s alter ego? That’s Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden. Their wild journey through underground fight clubs and anarchic escapades challenges societal norms in ways that stick with you. But behind the scenes, there was a whole other kind of chaos brewing.
Norton and Pitt weren’t just duking it out on screen; they were bonding off-camera too. During a downtime break, director Fincher spotted them in a tipsy state, swinging golf clubs like pros—or not. Their wild shots, hilariously veering into the side of the catering truck, were too gold to ignore.
Fincher, ever the opportunist, rolled with it and turned their drunken golf game into a memorable scene.

Bong Joon Ho fans have been anxiously awaiting a first look at some footage from the Award-winning Parasite director's next project for quite a while, and the first teaser trailer for Mickey 17 was released earlier this week.
Now, an international version has found its way online, and while a lot of the footage is the same (minus the Sinatra tune), there are quite a few new shots.
The (supposedly loose) adaptation of Edward Ashton’s best-selling novel, Mickey7, stars Robert Pattinson (The Batman) as the title character, who is repeatedly cloned to help with the colonization of a dangerous ice-planet.
Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo also star.
This trailer gives us a better idea of what to expect, as Mickey 17 joins forces with his latest clone, Mickey 18, in an attempt to stay alive when Mark Ruffalo's villain declares that all "multiples" - including the original - must be destroyed.

George Clooney has been cited as an influence over President Joe Biden’s decision to step down from the 2024 presidential campaign following the actor’s much-read op-ed in The New York Times. Since then Clooney praised Biden for deciding to step down, calling the decision “selfless” during an appearance at the Venice International Film Festival. Last night at the premiere of his new film Wolfs,...

George Clooney and Brad Pitt were happy to have their ages mocked in their latest movie 'Wolfs'.The 'Ocean's Eleven' co-stars have reunited for Jon Watts' upcoming action-comedy and the director says Clooney, 63, and Pitt, 60, took no offence to the jokes about their ages. The filmmaker told Entertainment Weekly: "That was one where you put it in the script and you cross your fingers and you hope that they don't get mad."But no, they liked it. It was just the right amount and it was things that I think they were totally fine having some fun with."In the movie, a professional fixer (Clooney) is hired to cover up a high-profile crime, before a second cleaner (Pitt) arrives at the scene, forcing the two lone wolves to work together. As the night progresses, chaos ensues for the fixers in a way neither expected.A sequel was...

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are optimistic about the upcoming presidential election, which is less than 50 days away.
“I’m feeling very hopeful,” Clooney told Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the “Wolfs” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. “Feeling hopeful,” Pitt chimed in.
Vice President Kamala Harris will go head-to-head with former President Donald Trump as U.S. citizens cast their votes in the Nov. 5 election.
“Momentum is a big deal,” Clooney explained, “so I’m feeling hopeful.”
Clooney made headlines on July 10 for publishing an op-ed in The New York Times, in which he urged President Joe Biden to end his campaign following his performance in the presidential debate against Trump. The Oscar winner noted in his op-ed that Democrats had been “all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign” when it came to Biden’s aging.

When it comes to the film industry, it is safe to say that there is a lot of competition. While most of the time, actors point their competitive nature at people they barely know, sometimes, it can be directly pointed toward someone they are related to. Such has been the case for siblings, Eric Roberts and Julia Roberts, who have not had the easiest time existing in the same space.

In a surprising move, Apple has changed its plans for the new Brad Pitt and George Clooney film “Wolves.” The movie was originally set for a wide theatrical release in theaters including IMAX. However, it will now only play for one week in select theaters before becoming available exclusively on Apple’s streaming service, Apple TV+.
This change differs from Apple’s previous strategy of giving its films theatrical runs. It signals the tech company is focusing more on its streaming platform over movie theaters. “Wolves” is directed by and stars Hollywood veterans Clooney and Pitt. Their involvement had suggested Apple planned a big screen premiere for the film.
The shift also highlights tensions between film studios and theaters. Movie chains get most revenue from ticket sales during a movie’s first weeks. Streaming services bypass theaters and let audiences watch new releases at home. As more major films go straight to streaming,...

George Clooney has a taunting offer for former President Donald Trump.
After the Wolfs star wrote a headline-making op-ed in July calling for President Joe Biden to drop his 2024 re-election bid, something Biden later did, Trump criticized Clooney in a post on his Truth Social network, saying in part that “fake movie actor” Clooney should “get out of politics and go back to television.”
On Tuesday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Clooney responded to Trump’s suggestion.
“I will if he does,” Clooney said. “That’s a trade-off I’d do.”
Kimmel even suggested that Clooney write another essay urging Trump, the current Republican presidential nominee, to drop his bid, since it “worked once. Why not try it again?”
Clooney also poked fun at Trump later when Kimmel pointed out how he often works with his friends on films, like Wolfs, which he stars in with longtime pal and fellow A-lister Brad Pitt.

Jennifer Aniston is still considered a heartthrob by many fans of the Friends sitcom that everybody loves dearly. Despite having successful runs on Friends (1994-2004), Ferris Bueller (1990-1991), and Herman’s Head (1991-1994), Aniston found great success in shooting films as well.
However, her most iconic role was Rachel Green on Marta Kauffman and David Crane’s hit 90s sitcom, Friends. Much like Rachel, the 55-year-old also found it very hard to maintain relationships before finding “the one”.

In the television show, Rachel dated multiple guys while trying to figure out her head regarding the dashing Ross Geller (portrayed by David Schwimmer). The story realizes a happy ending, Ross and Rachel fall in love with each other and probably live happily ever after. As much as Aniston’s fans wanted the same for her in real life, it’s been quite the opposite.

Robert Pattinson dies, and dies, and dies in the new trailer for Bong Joon-ho’s latest project “Mickey 17.”
Based on the 2022 novel “Mickey7” by Edward Ashton, the sci-fi thriller follows a down-on-his-luck Mickey (Pattinson), who signs up to die without reading the fine print. Mickey has donated his life to science, testing the limits of human nature and capabilities. But when one version of him dies, a clone is created in its place, retaining most of his memories and prepared to take on the next deadly mission.
Here’s a bit of what happens: Mickey drowns in lava, gets his hand chopped off in outer space and freezes to death, as Dean Martin’s “Ain’t’ That a Kick in the Head” plays brightly in the background, hinting at the tone of Bong’s forthcoming project.
