Three years have gone by since it was announced that Edgar Wright was coming on board to direct a new take on the novel The Running Man, which was written by Stephen King under his Richard Bachman pen name. The Running Man was, of course, previously turned into a film back in 1987 that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and had little to do with the source material. Earlier this year, it was announced that Glen Powell of Top Gun: Maverick, Hit Man, and Twisters is following in the footsteps of Schwarzenegger to play the lead role in the new adaptation. Tom Cruise might not be getting any younger, but the rumor about his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Glen Powell replacing him in Paramount’s Mission: Impossible franchise couldn’t be farther from the truth. Today, Powell is cutting the head off a rumor that would upset his mother. There are whispers about Powell replacing Tom Cruise as the star of the Mission: Impossible franchise after Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Still, Powell says there’s no validity to the rumor.

“My mom would never let me do that,” Powell told Pat McAfee of ESPN. “That’s a death trap,” Powell added, referring to executing the death-defying stunts that go hand-in-hand with the series. Glen Powell denies he will take over the Mission: Impossible franchise and replace Tom Cruise.

The Twisters actor is debunking a report that stated his Top Gun: Maverick co-star wanted Powell to replace him in the film series after Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is slated to premiere on May 23, 2025.

“My mom would never let me do that,” Powell told Pat McAfee after the ESPN host called him during his live show.

Powell added, “That’s a death trap,” referring to the stunts the role demands.

McAfee read the news about Powell during his live broadcast and called the actor up to congratulate him. Powell was seemingly in the middle of filming his new movie, The Running Man, and could not appear on camera because he was in full costume. He co-stars with Josh Brolin and Lee Pace in the film.

We finally have a complete cast list for Accused season 2, so here’s a look at who’s starring in the second season of the Fox hit!

Based on a British show, Accused premiered in 2023 on Fox and quickly became a success. The anthology series opens with a person on trial and flashbacks showing how they got to this point. The storylines are unique, with the crime often not what viewers expected and not always having a happy ending.

Exclusive: Sonequa Martin-Green, Mike Colter, Jamie Chung, Sherri Saum, and Kiara Barnes have joined Season 2 of Fox’s crime procedural Accused.

Martin-Green and Colter will lead the finale, titled “Megan’s Story,” as Megan and John, respectively. Barnes play Eve in the same episode, in which a music executive’s marriage to her husband is threatened by a beautiful seductress.

Chung will play the character Grace in “Eugene’s Story,” and Saum will play the character Erica in “Justin’s Story.”

In “Eugene’s Story,” a kind-hearted jewelry store owner is put on trial after his wife’s past throws their present into chaos. “Justin’s Story” sees a wrestling coach is on trial after he pushes his star wrestler too far.

The new cast joins some heavy hitters who have already been announced for Season 2, including Felicity Huffman, Taylor Schilling, Patrick J. Adams, William H. Macy, Justin Chambers, Danny Pino and Nick Cannon.

Jeremy Allen White is slowly turning into a name that’s being recognized quite easily in Hollywood. The 33-year-old is popularly known for his various roles on television shows. White, born in Brooklyn, New York began his acting career back in 2006, debuting on the silver screen with Beautiful Ohio starring Michelle Trachtenberg, Julianna Margulies, and William Hurt.

A couple of years later, White would land himself the role of Phillip Gallagher on the hit comedy-drama series Shameless. White starred alongside Hollywood veteran William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum, who played his father and sister on the show. Jeremy’s most recent work includes The Bear, a series with a vibe similar to Shameless. White’s success on the show has been terrific.

Sasha Calle, Mamoudou Athie and Jeffrey Donovan join Dane DeHaan in crime thriller “Wardriver,” directed by Rebecca Thomas and written by Daniel. The film is produced by Tim and Trevor White’s Star Thrower Entertainment alongside David M. Wulf, Daniel Casey, DeHaan and Highland Film Group, which is repping international at TIFF. Fox’s Accused has added four actors to its season two cast. Cobie Smulders, Vella Lovell, Dina Shihabi, and Isabel Arraiza have joined the crime anthology series for the upcoming season.

In addition, Fox unveiled a short trailer teasing the fictional cases and timely subject matters that will be featured in the new season.

Fox has added several new faces to Season 2 of Howard Gordon’s Accused. Cobie Smulders, Vella Lovell, Dina Shihabi and Isabel Arraiza will join the upcoming installment of the crime anthology series.

Jermaine Fowler has been tapped as a lead opposite Tracy Morgan in Paramount+ new multi-camera comedy series Crutch, an offshoot from CBS’ long-running sitcom The Neighborhood.

Developed by Owen Smith, who will serve as showrunner, Crutch centers on Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan), who goes by “Crutch,” is a brash, yet beloved Harlem shop owner whose world is turned upside down when his highbrow son (Fowler) and free-spirited daughter move back into the family home.

Fowler’s Jake Crutchfield is an Ivy League educated lawyer who forgoes a high-paying position at a swanky, white shoe law firm to provide low-cost legal aid in Harlem.

The Neighborhood star Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone executive produce Crutch via A Bird and a Bear along with Smith, Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment; Wendi Trilling for TrillTV; and Morgan. Fox has pushed the season 2 premiere of anthology crime series Accused to Tuesday, October 8 from its original October 1 date due to the recently scheduled vice presidential debate between Governor Tim Walz (D-mn) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-oh), hosted by CBS News.

The season 2 premiere will air at 8 pm on October 8, followed by Murder in a Small Town. The second episode of Murder in a Small Town will still air on October 1, but now at 8 pm, followed by the debate, the network said Friday.
