Three years have gone by since it was announced that Edgar Wright was coming on board to direct a new take on the novel The Running Man, which was written by Stephen King under his Richard Bachman pen name. The Running Man was, of course, previously turned into a film back in 1987 that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and had little to do with the source material. Earlier this year, it was announced that Glen Powell of Top Gun: Maverick, Hit Man, and Twisters is following in the footsteps of Schwarzenegger to play the lead role in the new adaptation. Wright’s take on The Running Man is now in production and Powell has been spotted on the set – and yes, he was running. You can check out some of the images right here:

Tom Cruise might not be getting any younger, but the rumor about his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Glen Powell replacing him in Paramount’s Mission: Impossible franchise couldn’t be farther from the truth. Today, Powell is cutting the head off a rumor that would upset his mother. There are whispers about Powell replacing Tom Cruise as the star of the Mission: Impossible franchise after Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Still, Powell says there’s no validity to the rumor.
“My mom would never let me do that,” Powell told Pat McAfee of ESPN. “That’s a death trap,” Powell added, referring to executing the death-defying stunts that go hand-in-hand with the series. After hearing the rumor, McAfee called Powell to congratulate him, though it seems the Anyone But You star was in the middle of filming Edgar Wright’s remake of Stephen King’s The Running Man.

Glen Powell denies he will take over the Mission: Impossible franchise and replace Tom Cruise.
The Twisters actor is debunking a report that stated his Top Gun: Maverick co-star wanted Powell to replace him in the film series after Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is slated to premiere on May 23, 2025.
“My mom would never let me do that,” Powell told Pat McAfee after the ESPN host called him during his live show.
Powell added, “That’s a death trap,” referring to the stunts the role demands.
McAfee read the news about Powell during his live broadcast and called the actor up to congratulate him. Powell was seemingly in the middle of filming his new movie, The Running Man, and could not appear on camera because he was in full costume. He co-stars with Josh Brolin and Lee Pace in the film.

Exclusive: Lucasfilm has closed a deal with Simon Kinberg to develop a trilogy of Star Wars films. Kinberg will write the trio and produce them with Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy.
I heard this will comprise Episodes 10-12 of The Skywalker Saga that began with George Lucas’s 1977 first film, which, along with Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, reshaped the global blockbuster game. Insiders disputed my intel that Kinberg will continue that storyline, saying this instead will begin a new saga, and sit alongside percolating Star Wars projects with James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Taika Waititi and Donald Glover. As usual, Lucasfilm and Disney are not commenting.
Kinberg previously worked with Lucasfilm in co-creating with Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck the Emmy-nominated animated series Star Wars Rebels that ran for four seasons from 2014-2018. He was also a consultant on Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, the J.J. Abrams-directed film that...

Wesley Snipes, the actor perhaps most widely known for starring as vampire hunter Blade, is ready to unsheath a new chapter in his Hollywood career, signing with Independent Artist Group for representation.
The actor and martial artist, who reprised his Blade role to the delight of fans in this summer’s $1.3 billion-grossing Deadpool & Wolverine, has an acting career that spans over three decades and reaches across genres. The actor gained notices for his 1990s work in dramas such as Jungle Fever, his influential crime movie New Jack City, comedic fare such as To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything! Blade seemed like an innocuous action thriller when it was released in 1998 but the movie, exuding tough attitude and replete with one-liners, launched a trilogy that has gained in stature and influence since the final installment came out in 2004. When Snipes...

Robert De Niro sees some of Donald Trump’s rhetoric in his classic political satire “Wag the Dog.”
The actor and filmmaker said during the opening panel for the inaugural Tribeca Festival Lisboa, as moderated by the CEO of Grupo Impresa Francisco Pedro Balsemão, that the 1997 film has an eerie relation to former president Trump.
De Niro starred as a spin doctor who masterminds a hoax along with a Hollywood producer (Dustin Hoffman) to stage a fictional war in Albania as an effort to draw attention away from a presidential sex scandal. William H. Macy, Denis Leary, Willie Nelson, Craig T. Nelson, and the late Anne Heche also appeared in the film, which was shot at the White House under the Clinton administration.

Heading into the second season of “Accused,” series developer Howard Gordon and showrunner Daniel Pearle didn’t have a clear overarching theme in mind. What they had instead was a goal.
“Honestly, we just wanted to be better,” Gordon told TheWrap. “We’re testing the limits.”
That’s a tall order considering the fact that “Accused” is already a difficult feat of television. Each episode of the anthology series plays out like its own little mystery, following someone else who’s on trial. Through a series of flashbacks that play out over the course of the episode, the audience slowly learns why they’re in the courtroom before the series ultimately reveals their crimes and sentencing. According to Pearle, one of the main questions they faced during the Fox drama’s first season was how do you make a series of completely different standalone stories feel connected. But as the...

Paul Thomas Anderson was 26 years old when he, in the words of Ebby Calvin Laloosh, announced his presence with authority. "Boogie Nights" was as familiar as it was revolutionary. Any kid who'd received an unofficial film school degree via their local movie theaters, video stores, and whatever pay cable channels to which their parents subscribed were fluent in Anderson's heightened cinematic language. We knew every reference, every lifted technique, and were certain that this brilliantly bratty mash note to the moving image would change the medium forever. A whole generation of young filmmakers suddenly had license to tell stories in their heavily referential yet deeply personal manner. For better or worse, we saw the world through the lens of a camera and/or the flickering light of a movie theater projector. We lived, we loved, we got our hearts broken and our asses kicked, and we were determined to...

We finally have a complete cast list for Accused season 2, so here’s a look at who’s starring in the second season of the Fox hit!
Based on a British show, Accused premiered in 2023 on Fox and quickly became a success. The anthology series opens with a person on trial and flashbacks showing how they got to this point. The storylines are unique, with the crime often not what viewers expected and not always having a happy ending.
The show did well in the ratings and is set for a second season. It was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, with Fox deciding to hold it off until this fall. As with season 1, each episode features a brand new guest cast with a new storyline.
It is confirmed that Emmy winner Michael Chiklis, who starred in the pilot episode, will return for season 2 but in a different part. He...

Daniel Craig’s transformation at the Venice International Film Festival has certainly captured attention, with his long brown hair streaked with silver becoming a hot topic of discussion. The former James Bond star looked dramatically different from his usual clean-cut appearance, sparking a flurry of reactions on social media.

Image Source: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment The superhero comedy Mystery Men made a splash in 1999 because to its unique premise and star-studded ensemble cast. The movie portrayed some comically incompetent amateur superheroes as they battled a villainous supervillain to save the day. Mystery Men seemed bound for success with huge names like Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, William H. Macy, and even the late Paul Reubens. The movie did poorly at the box office, recouping only half of its $68 million budget, despite receiving favorable reviews. But 25 years later, Mystery Men has risen above the hype and become a treasured cult classic. Ben Stiller, who was at the time enjoying the success of There’s Something About Mary, told us at the time of Mystery Men’s release that he was partly drawn to the film by Janeane Garofalo, a close friend and frequent collaborator.
