Has released thirteen comedy albums: "The Great White Stanhope", "Sicko", "Something To Take The Edge Off", "Die Laughing," "Deadbeat Hero", "No Refunds", "From Across the Street," "Oslo - Burning the Bridge to Nowhere", "Before Turning the Gun on Himself," "Beer Hall Putsch," "No Place Like Home," "Popov Vodka presents: An Evening with Doug Stanhope," and "The Dying of a Last Breed." The album "Sicko" was created solely for the purpose of replacing "The Great White Stanhope," which Stanhope himself considers a colossal disappointment and has since disowned.

Hosts "The Man Show" on comedy central, with fellow host Joe Rogan. The duo filled in for Jimmy Kimmell and Adam Carolla, who also created Comedy Central's crude puppet show "Crank Yankers"

Is good friends with comics Mitch Hedberg, Dave Attell and Joe Rogan.
