She is played by Devika Bhise in this film, and seems to be a bonafide warrior of both past & present. The trailer of Huma Qureshi's Netflix show "Leila", which was dropped online on Friday, showcases the search of a mother for her missing daughter in an imagined world, where there is discrimination.

Pegged as "India's first dystopian story", "Leila" is set in the imagined world of "Aryavarta" in which there is great suffering, extreme and totalitarian rules of engagement and fictional extremes constructed around an obsession with purity, communal and divisive societal dramas and grit, read a statement.

The show is helmed by Deepa Mehta, Shanker Raman and Pawan Kumar.

Its two-minute long trailer opens in Aryavarta, a digitised Indian city. It introduces Shalini (Huma), who marries outside her community and has to face harsh treatment. Her fight to get back her daughter, who gets kidnapped over her "mixed blood", forms the crux of the show.

Cayenne Pepper Productions released today the first look image of Devika Bhise as Rani Lakshmibai from Swati Bhise’s forthcoming feature Swords and Sceptres, which follows the true story of the historic Queen of Jhansi who fiercely led her army against the British East India Company in the infamous Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.

Revealing one of Rani’s looks, this first image exposes the incredible detail and work which Swati Bhise and her team have put into portraying an authentic version of the historical queen. The intricate costumes with original designs that existed during the period, all custom and individually handmade 14 months in the making, have been created by costume designers Vidhi Singhania, Riyaz Ali Merchant and Swati Bhise with make-up by national award winning make-up supervisor Vikram Gaikwad. The jewellery has been loaned by Gadgil Jewellers known for their heritage jewellery from this period, with uncut diamond jewellery made by Shri Hari of Delhi.

The cast and crew let their hair down at the success party of Vikram Bhatt?s Haunted 3D

It was party time for the cast and crew of the horror film Haunted 3D.  Director Vikram Bhatt played host to a string of celebrities at the swanky venue Novotel in Juhu, Mumbai. While Mahakshay Chakraborty, Mithun Chakraborty and Yogita Bali were amongst the first to arrive after Bhatt, they were soon joined by filmmakers Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt, who were seen congratulating Mahakshay, Tia Bajpai, Achint Kaur and Arif Zakaria.

Celina Jaitley, who recently got spooked out of her wits after watching Ragini Mms, seemed pretty fearless at this Haunted part. Former model turned actress Mugdha Godse added to the glamour quotient of the evening while director Satish Kaushik and film producer Kumar Mangat Pathak were spotted congratulating Vikram Bhatt.
