America helped start the Feel Good Film Festival in 2008 and ran it until May 2011, while it was at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. Her titles were Executive Director and co-Programmer.

In 2022, Women in Games Global Awards honored America with the "Favorite Woman Game Protagonist" award for her portrayal of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in the video game Gotham Knights. The award was announced on September 24th, 2022 via Women in Games's Twitch channel.
