Frank H. Woodward is an award-winning producer, director, and writer with over 30 years experience in film and television production.
His first feature length documentary was the award winning "Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown". This chronicle of weird tales author H.P. Lovecraft featured interviews with Neil Gaiman, John Carpenter and Guillermo Del Toro. Thirteen years after its initial release, "Lovecraft" had its Beijing premiere at the 2021 Pumpkin Fantasy Film Festival.
His other documentary work includes the critically acclaimed "Men In Suits", a look at the art of creature suits and the actors that bring those characters to life including Doug Jones, Tom Woodruff, Jr. and the original Godzilla, Haruo Nakajima.
As a screenwriter, Frank wrote the sequel "Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort" for Fox and the SyFy Original Movie "Black Forest". He was also an executive producer on the SyFy International film "Firequake".
In the world of short films, Frank has written and directed "Balloon" and "Pinata" (Parts One & Two of the unofficial Birthday Trilogy). His 2020 short film "Clean" premiered at Screamfest in Los Angeles. He also collaborated with director Jack Bennett on the Jaws spoof, "Quint In '58" which was featured on Bite Size Horror.
In between productions, Frank explored new frontiers for independent filmmakers in these uncertain times through his podcast Film Sense (all episodes available on LibSyn and iTunes).
His most recent short film "What Does It Eat?" won Best Super Short Film at the 2023 MoviePlay International Film Festival, 8 And HalFilm Awards and the Frida Film Festival.
Frank is currently filming a documentary on Disney Legend and Imagineer Bob Gurr. Gurr was part of the original team who designed Disneyland's Autopia, Monorail and many other cherished attractions.
