A boldly reimagined and fully restored home on La Costa Beach in Malibu where Dolly Parton and Steve McQueen each once lived, and which was formerly owned by actor Stephen Dorff, is hitting the market for $9.8 million.

The house melds classic midcentury details including double-height cedar ceilings and shingles with of-the-moment maximalist design.

Originally built in 1969 by architects Buff & Hensman (known for designing Case Study House #20), the house is now owned by celebrity real estate brokers Branden and Rayni, who, consulting with interior designer Victoria Gillet, gave the property a top to bottom redesign.

Once known as The Brown House, the house has been redubbed The Endless Summer Malibu Beach House by the Williamses.

As Bono plays the Sphere with U2 in Las Vegas this fall, the Irish rock star also has been revealed to be involved with another prominent piece of architecture, this one in L.A.

For months, a huge house — with an even more enormous foundation and elevated driveway ­— has been rising in the Hollywood Hills, inescapably visible to commuters heading north on Fairfax Avenue.

According to a source, Bono is an investor in the project. Designed by architect Noah Walker and developed by Plus Development Group, the home appears to include a triangular-shaped main house, a guest house and a pool.

A rep for Bono was not reachable for comment; Plus Development Group had no comment and Walker’s office did not respond to an interview request. Back in 2021, music executive Scooter Braun paid $65 million for a 19,000-square-foot modern mansion designed by Walker, located in Brentwood.

One of the world’s largest homes is set to hit the auction block in early February, amid bankruptcy proceedings, asking $295 million. Known since its inception by colorful and controversial developer Nile Niami simply as “The One,” the monstrous and still-incomplete Los Angeles structure is 10 years in the making.
