- Frank Williams was born on July 2, 1931 in Edgware, London, England, UK. He was an actor and writer, known for Dad's Army (2016), Motive for Murder (1957) and As Good Cooks Go (1969). He died on June 26, 2022 in London, England, UK.
- Frank served 3 terms as a member of the General Synod of the Church of England, between 1985 and 2000.
- As at December 2018 he and Ian Lavender are the only surviving regular members of the Dad's Army cast.
- He still has the original glasses he wore as the Vicar in Dad's Army (1968).
- Written a new book on being the Vicar in Dads Army
- In 1993, Williams co-founded with Bill Pertwee the Dad's Army Appreciation Society. He was the society's vice president until the death of Bill Pertwee in 2013 when he became the President.
- [on Bill Pertwee] He always used to play himself down as an actor, he always used to say "I'm not really an actor, I'm a turn. All I do is shout a lot and push people around." I think that's Bill typically playing himself down because I think he was a very good actor. There are a number of scenes in Dad's Army (1968) where you see a different side of him.
- [on James Beck] It was a terrible shock. We all knew he was a heavy drinker, but we didn't bother much about it. There were a lot of heavy drinkers about in the business in those days. The only time I thought there might be something seriously wrong was when we were shooting the outdoor scenes for an episode in which the platoon were being chased by a pack of bloodhounds and Captain Mainwaring got them to take off their boots and socks and roll up their trousers. I saw Jimmy's legs and they were purple. It was the last episode he appeared in before he died.
