- Graduated from the University of Kansas in 1967 with a degree in interior design.
- After modeling in New York City for six months she flew to Los Angeles for a "cattle call"-style audition for the role of Amanda in The Love Machine (1971), having read the source novel and feeling she'd be well cast as the tall boyish-figured blonde model. Reportedly she was the last of 47 auditionees seen by producers M.J. Frankovich and Irving Mansfield who cast her as Amanda in the course of a half hour interview.
