The premiere date for the second half of Billy the Kid season two has been set. MGM+ has announced the return of the series with the release of a trailer. The first half of season two premiered in October 2023.

Billy the Kid? More like Billy the Crisis Averter!

MGM+ on Wednesday unveiled the key art and official trailer for Billy the Kid Season 2, and it promises to be filled with action.

Seriously, we need the second season right now.

"The epic romantic adventure inspired by the life of America's most infamous outlaw continues in Season Two, as Billy and his allies square off against his oldest friend Jesse Evans and the corrupt powers of the Santa Fe Ring," the streaming service teases.

"When shots are fired, the conflict erupts into the bloody Lincoln County War. Amidst the fighting, Billy will struggle to hang onto his soul—and to the love of his life."

"The other side has the advantage," Billy declares in the action-packed trailer.

"You're farmers," he adds.

"Jesse Evans and his gang are all practiced killers."

It seems like Billy will have his work cut out for...

Billy the Kid has its second season premiere date set. MGM+ has released a trailer teasing what is ahead in the Western series. For season two, the eight-episode season will be divided into two parts, with part one arriving in October and part two coming in 2024.

Billy the Kid takes on the Santa Fe Ring in season two of MGM+’s Western romantic adventure. The trailer for Billy the Kid‘s second season shows Billy declaring war and willing to do whatever it takes to take down his enemies.

Tom Blyth, soon to be seen in The Hunger Games prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, leads the cast as William H. Bonney. Daniel Webber (Escape from Pretoria) stars as Jesse Evans, Eileen O’Higgins plays Kathleen McCarty, Sean Owen Roberts is Bob Olinger, and Dakota Daulby plays John Beckwith. Ryan Kennedy is Ash Upson, Ian Tracey is Frank Baker, Nuria Vegas is Dulcinea, and Vincent Walsh plays Lawrence Murphy.

Billy the Kid will be back on TV screens very soon.

MGM+ this week that Billy the Kid Season 2 will debut on Sunday, October 15, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

There is a little bit of a catch:

Four episodes of the season will air this year, with the final four being held until 2024.

A reason for the decision has not been revealed, but there's a good chance it has something to do with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Billy the Kid (Tom Blyth) is in for a not-so-great surprise when he joins Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber) in the Season 1 finale on Epix. In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of Billy the Kid‘s “The Rampage,” more than one person calls out to Billy after he rides up. “Missed all the fun today,” Jesse tells him. “What kind of fun?” Billy asks. Epix “We did what Mr. Murphy [Vincent Walsh] wanted us to do,” Jesse explains. “We drove those farmers off their property.” Did they kill any of the farmers? “What do you think?” Jesse asks. “‘Course we did.” Watch the clip above for more to find out what happened and see Billy’s reaction. In “The Rampage,” it’s the eve of the Lincoln County War. Jesse and the gang are encouraged by Murphy to ramp up their attacks on those farmers, mostly Mexican, who have signed up with Tunstall.

Toronto -- Dramas took pride of place Tuesday as the 2008 Geminis, Canada's TV awards, unveiled nominations in Toronto.

Shaftesbury Films' "Murdoch Mysteries," based on Maureen Jennings' detective novels, led all comers with 14 nominations, including best drama and guest actor noms for Vincent Walsh, Gavin Crawford, Stephen McHattie and Dmitry Chepovetsky.

Close behind was Back Alley Film Prods.' "Durham County," with 13 mentions, including best drama and best actor noms for Hugh Dillon ("Flashpoint") and Justin Louis.

Rounding out the drama competition is Peace Arch Television's "The Tudors," with 12 nominations; White Pine Pictures' "The Border," with nine; and Watcher Films' West Coast crime drama "Intelligence," with five nominations, including best actor for Ian Tracey.

Other multiple nominees include two miniseries: "The Englishman's Boy" from Mind's Eye Entertainment, with 12 noms, and Norstar Filmed Entertainment's "Would Be Kings," with eight.

The big splash for drama marks a departure from years past when the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
