While it’s true that the One Chicago universe has had its fair share of memorable guest stars, I can’t say that I’ve been as excited about any of them as I am now.
The recent addition of actor and singer Steven Strait to Chicago Fire has given fans a little something extra to look forward to each week.
Now that Violet is finally ready for a new love interest, helpful-bystander-turned-romantic-prospect Flynn Calhoun is here to woo our favorite paramedic in charge.

If Flynn looks familiar to you, it’s probably because Steven Strait’s extensive acting catalog has graced your screen in one way or another.

Marvel Studios has shared a cast list for the upcoming third and final season of What If...?, and Jeffrey Wright's Watcher looks set to be joined by another A-List lineup of Marvel Cinematic Universe talent.
We heard some time ago that season 3 would add some key Phase 4 characters to the mix, and that's evident from the presence of Kingo, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, and Moon Knight.
There aren't many surprises beyond that, though we are intrigued to see what the likes of Sonny Burch and Arishem the Judge bring to the table.
What If...? will also deliver some big MCU debuts, with Barbie star America Ferrera and Harry Potter icon Jason Isaacs among the guest stars set to appear in the 8-episode series.

Part of what many fans love about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is how Marvel Studios hints at the next big event or reveals surprise character introductions with each movie. It evokes one of the most iconic things about Marvel Comics, with big font stingers exhorting True Believers to stay tuned. Even if the onslaught of MCU media has worn deep tracks in the greater film/TV audience over the last decade, there's still a thrill to a well-executed stinger or credit cookie.
However, for every promise that the Avengers will return or a tease of Thanos' threatening rise to power, there's a chance that we might not see a cool hint pay off down the road. There are several things that have been teased in the MCU, especially in credits scenes that have yet to yield any significant results. While that can be disappointing, especially for fans of newly introduced characters or plot threads,...

No one likes going to the doctor, but for some reason, a lot of us can't seem to get enough of watching fake doctors on TV. Medical drama series have been popular on the small screen for what feels like forever, and whether these procedurals are following the high-pressured jobs of doctors, nurses, paramedics, or any essential worker, there's an audience ready and waiting to tune in.
In August 2024, Netflix released its Spanish medical drama series Breathless (also known as Respira) from the creators of the now-ended teen thriller Elite. The series centers on a public hospital in Valencia that experiences changes when a public figure seeks treatment. Breathless stars Blanca Suárez, Manu Rios, Najwa Nimri, Alfonso Bassave, and more talented actors in the ensemble cast.
Like most medical drama series, Breathless doesn't solely focus on the heart-pounding and sometimes downright bone-chilling life-or-death situations that happen in a hospital. There's also romance,...

Who doesn't love a little drama in their life? Well, maybe not in your life, but in the shows you watch on Netflix. Thankfully, there's no shortage of great shows to escape into on each platform, but Netflix might boast some of the best and continues to add the best, too.
While serial dramas and quick-binge limited series are what everyone wants these days, you just can't beat a procedural. The case-of-the-week format still holds on strong on broadcast television, and some streamers are even starting to adopt the time-tested format.
Over the years, Netflix has housed some of the biggest titans of the procedural drama genre and maintained their popularity on streaming. Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, S.W.A.T., and more small-screen shows have enjoyed additional viewership success thanks to the streaming service.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released in 2021 to mostly positive reviews, and while the Flag Smashers were a forgettable addition to the MCU, we were left with plenty of other big talking points.
Sam Wilson became Captain America, Bucky finally moved on from his past, U.S. Agent made his presence felt, and Sharon Carter was established as a deadly new villain.
Mackie first played The Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He later returned in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, so how did he feel about returning to television?
"Television is really hard. My first episode of television was Law & Order," Mackie told actor Tyler James Williams about the challenges of his transition in an interview with Variety. "It was the hardest seven days of my career. TV is real, TV is a different beast,...

Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now available on 4K Uhd and Blu-ray Steelbook, and IGN has shared a deleted scene from the first episode of the Disney+ series.
Titled "Flight Lesson," the sequence picks up after Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) gives his speech at a ceremony where Captain America's shield is being put on display at a museum. Wilson still has some reservations about taking up the mantle that was passed to him by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in Avengers: Endgame, and speaks to Col. James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) about it.
Wilson notes that his former teammate appears to be fully recovered from the accident which left him almost paralysed in Civil War, and Rhodey says he doesn't "need the hardware" any more thanks to a new procedure. Sam then apologizes for his part in what happened, and Rhodey assures his friend that there are no hard feelings.

In recent years, Fox has been switching things up.
When the network became an independent broadcaster, it was inevitable there would be changes.
The network's reliance on a wider variety of programming has led to mixed results, and the latest strategy shift could become the norm for all of the networks after initially being adopted by The CW.
On Thursday, Fox officially picked up the new drama series Murder in a Small Town, starring Rossif Sutherland (The Handmaid's Tale) and Kristin Kreuk (Beauty and the Beast).
It is the first pickup of a scripted series on the network to be co-produced with an international studio.
Co-producing shows come with fewer risks because it allows shows to be made more cost-effectively by splitting the budget.
The series is being developed for the 2024-25 TV season, which makes sense when you consider the delayed premiere dates of the network's returning series due...

"I don't want to see you become damaged goods..." "It's not just for me. What about the next girl?" Vertical has revealed an official trailer for the legal thriller film titled Miranda's Victim, getting a direct-to-vod release in October this fall. Based on true events, the film first premiered at the 2023 Santa Barbara Film Festival earlier this year as well as a few other smaller festivals. In 1963, after Trish Weir is kidnapped and sexually assaulted, her assailant is caught and tried. After he confesses without legal representation during the trial, he serves a two-year sentence, only to have the verdict later overturned. This retrial triggers a legal proceeding that forever changes the nation's justice system. As rotten as this sounds, it's what leads to the creation of the "Miranda rights". Abigail Breslin stars with Ryan Phillippe as a vicious defense attorney, plus Luke Wilson, Emily VanCamp, Mireille Enos, Enrique Murciano,...

Emily VanCamp and Abigail Breslin in Miranda's Victim
60 years ago, Arizona teenager Patricia Weir, on her way home after an evening spent working in her local cinema, suffered a brutal assault at the hands of a stranger. Despite the social stigma associated with being victimised in that way, she fought for justice, and with the help of a police force which treated her with respect from the outset, her assailant was out away. Three years later, however, his sentence was quashed. The police had failed to let him know his tights or speak to a lawyer before they interrogated him, and the case collapsed. This was the origin of what are known in the US as ‘Miranda rights’.
The case – which would result in a retrial taking place – has legendary status within US legal history, but whilst students continue to learn about what happened to Ernesto Miranda, the experience of the woman he targeted.

"The Resident" season 6 ended its relatively short run back in January, but Fox waited a long time to weigh in on the fate of the long-running series. At long last, it has been confirmed that this is the end for Conrad Hawkins and the rest of the staff at Chastain Memorial Hospital. Yes, sad to say for fans of the show, it will not be returning for a seventh season, so the season 6 finale will ultimately serve as the series finale.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has officially canceled the medical show after six full seasons and 107 episodes. The series was produced by 20th Century Television and was created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi. It's worth pointing out that "The Resident" season 6 was the shortest in the show's history at just 13 episodes, and that may have, in hindsight, been a bit of writing on the wall.

Unseen is a South African series created by Travis Taute and Daryne Joshua starring Gail Mabalane and Brendon Daniels.
About the Series
Unseen is an interesting South African series that behaves like a classic thriller, but with a realistic tone: it’s a tale full of mysteries where everything revolves around a protagonist who, on going to pick up her husband from prison, it turns out that he is simply not there.
There begins a plot that will lead her through criminal organizations and into the underworld, the descent into hell of a woman full of goodness, a cleaner, who is forced to become a murderess due to circumstance.
Entertaining, well paced, with the impediment of the production. This is not Revenge (the one with Emily VanCamp) nor are we in the Hamptons. Here we travel to a world that, with no pretences, spreads out its nets in the thick of night,...

After that fall finale, it looks like The Resident has reached a turn in two doctors’ lives that has been pretty much inevitable since a love triangle was introduced in Season 5. When Season 6 began, we learned he’d chosen Cade, though he also didn’t know that Billie was even an option at that point. But for every time we saw Conrad and Cade as a couple (and for all...
